Itchy spreading spots on my son’s body, any ideas what they are?

Hi Guys, my son has these kind of spots on his body, does anyone know what they are? Been to the pharmacy and the doctor but they dont know and just gave me hydrocortisone cream. They are itchy and spreading. I've changed checked everything I can think of

Do you have a photo? Could it be chicken pox?

Molloscum? Do they look fluid filled?

How old is he? Very different if this is a 3 year old vs a 15 year old

Have you tried antihistamines in case it's an allergic reaction with them being itchy. Are they raised?

Where did they start? If on limbs it’s probably hand foot and mouth disease

They are around his tummy and bottom. He is 6 years old. I just don't know what they could be I've googled all different kinds of insect bites to try and identify them

Chickenpox?

If they are around the bottom it could be hand foot and mouth.

Oh now I’ve seen your picture it doesn’t look like hand foot and mouth.

Looks like hives to me, likely he's eaten something he's allergic to. I used get them like that as a kid from eating strawberries.

The big one could be the herald patch of Pityriasis rosea. It then spreads and is very itchy as you say. It will resolve itself naturally if that is what it is.

If so, it's harmless but uncomfortable while it lasts.

Hives. Try piriton and think of anything different he has eaten or come into contact with.

Looks like hives to me. I’d treat with piraton.

I had hives after taking an antibiotic. This looks similar. I took an old fashioned antibiotic that works better for hives and topical steroid cream. All that said, see another doctor, especially if they spread.

Have a look at erythema multiforme. My daughter had it, to start with it looked like a sort of lump with a head in the center and the doctor said it was hives. But it spread and she became really poorly. We went back to see the GP later in the day and he sent her straight to hospital and called every other member of staff into the surgery to see her because it was such an unusual presentation.
