I'm just finishing my first cuppa of the day, in my conservatory spot after a lie in snuggled with boy cat. They've been fed but girl cat turned her nose up at what they've got & has vanished to the top of the cat tree <sigh>.

I'm off to The Range shortly ish with dd2 - we need a quick stop off in town for a couple of bits on the way as well. I ordered a new bed last night 🥳 so want to have a look at their bedding. Dd1 is here working Leger week so she's also given me a small list "if I don't mind" 🙄 . It does include a spray mop like we have here, for quick cleans, though so I'll let her off.

When we get in, I have a whole load of things I'd like to do - the to do list is getting a bit long. Priority is finishing laying the weed membrane now my pegs have arrived though, I think. Then I just need to empty my tomato hanging baskets at some point & tidy - I think the plants are pretty done. Actually, must borrow a mower from somewhere too! I decided a bed was more important than a new mower.

This evening, I think we'll have pork loin steaks for tea, with salad of some sort and roast baby potatoes 😋. I'll have a glass of wine with mine. After tidying & showers I'll sit down with my book, dd2 might come down here with hers too, or she might stay in their room. Dd1 will be in by 9 ish for tea, a couple of hours unwind, and bed ready to go again tomorrow.

What about you? 🙂

My ex/isn’t ex/sort of is/sort of isn’t is coming round. I’ve had a hard time recently with my grandma being very poorly in the hospital so we’re hanging out today. Been shopping with my mum, helped my grandparents, I’m so stressed so I like having someone familiar around. When we split it was amicable as we want different things, so it’s fine. I have done my makeup though. Tomorrow I’m driving as I’ve got my test coming up soon. Made a plan for my sisters birthday as she’s been away for 3 months. We’re surprising her with a karaoke and game show party and she’s going to love it, she’s been on about doing both those things for ages. It’s been a busy day as every day has been recently. I’m so burnt out and I can’t wait for a nice night out.

Hi all,

I've run Parkrun, dropped DS at work, done the week's food shop and eaten lunch.

Now I'm hastily packing DS' possessions into holdalls, ready to move to uni tomorrow morning. We're leaving at 7.30am to drive the four hours to his halls of residence. The washing machine is still running and there are bags and bedding and lists everywhere.

Honestly, when I went, I had a rucksack, and the tank bag on my motorbike. No assistance from parents at all. DS seems to have enough for a two bed flat, not a tiny single halls room. I've got to get his bike in the back of my car, plus all his stuff.

He's leaving and it only really hit me this morning when I did the food shop and only needed food for me. The house is going to be really quiet but on the other hand I can cook much more adventurous meals, go away for weekends on the spur of the moment, and have an unlimited social life after 16 years alone.

Someone said I'd be sitting weeping in a layby tomorrow evening, but I don't think so. I hope not. 🤔
