Can ds wait in the gp waiting room?

I need to go to the gp next week. But the appointment is at 2.30pm. So I'm going to have to get ds from school early. Because I won't make it to his school on time. Could there be an issue if I leave him in the waiting room whilst I see gp? Hes 11 and sen. But he will likely just watch youbtube or something.

If i have to wait longer due an emergency then I would be with him. I do need the appointment though.

He won't go to after school club. And i can't ask other parents.

Sorry, I meant if your own appointment lasted longer and/or there was an emergency while he was on his own. It’s not unknown for people to collapse or be sick or whatever in waiting rooms.

I think if you don’t have any other option - I would do it . I assume your appointment would be 20 minutes top .
How would he react , if someone was trying to be friendly and chatted to him
? Could you give him headphones and an iPad / tablet and some headphones so others could see he was engaged watching something ? Obviously make sure that he didn’t have it on too loud .
What is the layout of the surgery , is the waiting area on the same floor as where you would see the Dr ? If it is and if he did become upset , you could get to him quickly .

Thats a hard one. But i could say what if about everything. The other option would be not going and it taken me a very long time to get the courage to ho. If i don't go it delays thing's more. I also might bottle out altogether.
