I got my daith and a flat pierced yesterday. I’m in love with the daith ring. I’ve definitely got the bug!

so can you show me yours?

I love those!! Also love your name!

Aw thank you! I also have my nose and septum done.

Piercing is my second most expensive hobby after the dog 😂

Mine never heal properly :( I’ve tried piercings multiple times throughout my life and it never goes well regardless of care, I’m thinking of maybe getting tested because my mother seems to think I have some allergy but she doesn’t know what (apparently this was also an issue as a child, I remember having them pierced more than once).

Are you making sure your piecer uses implant grade titanium?

TheThirteenthFairy · Today 08:22

These are lovely - a nice start to my day.

Not aimed at you OP, your ear looks cute but since when did a pierced ear become a curated one?!

It's quite a common term used for ears with several piercings

Thank God someone else asked this! 🤣

The piercings look great, but 'curated ears' sounds ridiculously grand.

It’s been around for a while - it basically means your ears are pierced multiple times and your jewellery often fits a theme of some kind.

It’s a common term amongst professional piercers. Many will have clients come in who want all their jewellery to fit a certain theme and they’ll pay hundreds to get it done.

Mine aren’t themed as such but all my jewellery is the same colour and style. A titanium piece from my piercer costs me about £90 (including the piercing).

Bjorkdidit · Today 10:35

Who knew that the tragus piercing and 6 other ear piercings I've had for about 30 years had acquired a wanky name.

Rosecoffeecup · Today 10:41

I have 2 helix and 3 lobe in one ear, and 4 lobe in the other ear. Currently all are empty.

I desperately need to sort out what to wear in each one because I just end up with nothing in.

Does anyone have brand recommendations?

So is just one known as a 'feature' ear? 🤣

🙄 you don’t have to use the term if you don’t want to.

I just wish people didn’t feel the need to shit on things that are totally irrelevant to them.

But it's funny!

There's no need to take it so seriously even if you don't agree 😁

Is it? What’s funny about it?

My daughter wants a curated ear. She’s 13 and currently has 3 lobe piercings in each ear, (stacked, is that the right word? One above the other up her lobe.) that’s her limit at the minute as her school don’t allow earrings and cartilage takes too long to heal, we were pushing it with the 6 weeks for her last lobes, she’s highly annoyed that she now needs to wait a few years!

I love the look of curated ears but for some reason my body does not heal from piercings at all. I’ve had my lobes done 3 times and the top of my ear and all had to be taken out as over a year later each time they still hadn’t healed. I have my nose done which flares up every now and again but they only reason I’ve still got it is I changed it to a ring after 6 months and haven’t changed it since in 2ish years, so I’m sticking with it for life unless I take it out for good.

I got the top of my ear done a million years ago when I was 12 and to this day, it's unhappy if I wear an earring with a back to it. But it's completely fine in a hoop or a stud with a bend in it.

About the same value as your question. I dunno, it's a chat forum where people just chat 😳🤷‍♂️

Littledidsheknow · Today 13:34

Disappointing lack of pictures on this thread!

Where are all the curated/embellished/feature
ears?

TheGriffle · Today 13:50

@PlantainArama it was more than likely the butterfly back coupled with the fact I slept on the ear that made my helix
never heal but I’ve given my lobes 3 goes in adulthood and they’ve never healed although I love having them in, after a year and them still hurting and flaring up if I changed them and trying all the jewellery under the sun (within reason, I do not have an unlimited earring budget!) I gave up. I’m very jealous of my daughter and her ability to heal, but worried my youngest might have inherited my crap healing abilities but she’s not wanting a piercing yet at 9.

Beebeez · Today 14:19

I just wanted to see pretty piercings not have an argument! I’m going to get my tragus, conch and a helix done next week I’ve decided and I’ll be posting photos !!

The utter wank of ‘curated’ as a descriptor for ear piercings.

I have lots of piercings. Are my ears curated? No. Am I going to show photos of my ears? Also no.

What a lovely pointless comment. Have a nice day
