Would I be awful to get a skip and clear out?

Every cupboard, drawer and other available space in the house is just crammed with stuff. Not like absolute hoarders but I could see it looking that way in a few more years.

So im thinking about hiring a skip and having a massive no-mercy clear out. However, there's probably quite a lot of stuff of all sorts of genres that would either fetch a small amount on selling sites or would benefit someone on free cycle etc but... I just dont have the time or the energy to list things, negotiate with buyers, wait for them to turnup etc.

Theres a lot of clothes/bedding and the likes, and these I will send to charity, but for everything else - am i a bad person if I just get a skip? And just lighten my mental load as well as the physical? I feel like I cant breathe. Am I awful to send it all to landfill?

There can be an element of shame or embarrassment too based on what you're throwing out (actual rubbish from under beds? Gadgets still in their boxes?)

Charities charge you a lot of money to come and collect things.
She's said she can't face the slow faff of trying to sell things.

Instead of skip and if you really can’t be bothered to sell yourself why not advertise on FB market place for a reseller to come round and take it away FOC.

Do not send to landfill, you could literally make someone’s life a bit easier by donating.

Ugh I hear you, and I am a massive Vinted seller. But the mental load that comes with ‘okay this needs to go into my charity pile, I need to photograph this for Facebook/freecycle, this is my Vinted pile’ sometimes you DO just need a skip

It’s a shame to get rid of things that can be sold but taking photos, replying to messages, then sending or waiting in takes ages. I would take to charity the bits that they’ll accept, and I would put the rest out the front in a big pile with a sign, and take photos for a Facebook post on the local group. I did this and almost everything went, it was such random stuff as well
