Hi, I’m wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation or has any experience with this.
I have eggs frozen at a clinic in Barcelona and would like to transfer them to a UK fertility clinic to use with a UK identity-release sperm donor.
My Spanish clinic has told me that when applying for permission to export the eggs, the reason for the transfer has to be provided, and that they cannot release/export them for the purpose of using a non-anonymous donor because donor anonymity is required under Spanish law.
I’m trying to find out whether anyone has encountered this when transferring their own eggs from Spain to the UK, and whether there are any legitimate alternative routes or circumstances under which the transfer can still be authorised.
I’d also be really interested to hear about the process, how long it took, costs, and which UK clinic you used.
