What age did you first take your child abroad?

What age did you take your child abroad for the first time? My son has just turned 3 and I haven't taken him abroad yet. He also has autism and he gets very overwhelmed and even UK holidays are quite stressful.
I was thinking of going abroad next year but not sure I have the nerve to do it with his needs yet.
I feel like a bad mom seeing the young toddlers going abroad at a young age but not sure whether to stick to UK holidays until hes older and can handle it more.

Taking young children abroad has no benefit to them whatsoever. They will remember nothing, so it's pretty irrelevant really. If you want to go on holiday and have a baby or toddler, go for it, but it might not be worth the effort!

Toddlers going abroad won’t remember the holiday and would probably have more fun visiting a wildlife park or playing on the beach with a bucket and spade in this country, I didn’t go abroad till I was 16 and my DD was 14. Neither of us is mentally scarred.
