What's your current earworm?

Mine have been a slightly baffling selection just lately. First it was Tiger Feet. Then I caught myself singing Good King Wenceslas in the car, and couldn't get rid of it out of my head, then for several days it was 9 to 5 (for obvious reasons) and now, this afternoon, it has become A Nightingale Sang In Berkely Square, for no good reason I can think of.

Please tell me I'm not alone in this weirdness!

Lonely lonely girl am I..The Velvelletes.

SerendipityCat · 03/09/2026 01:26

You Win Again by the Bee Gees. I actually like it, it’s certainly an improvement on the usual irritating nonsense. Thank you, Radio Caroline!

Enko · 03/09/2026 01:28

Working 9-5. Likely because I watched the film the other day.

I kinda like it so not in a hurry for it to change

MadisonAvenue · 03/09/2026 02:05

Runaways - The Killers

MeAndMyGhost · 03/09/2026 02:11

Hootie Fruitee (sp?) another one by Katseye.

No idea why, I'm about 30 years (at least) over their demographic. Thanks Instagram.

SplendidUtterly · 03/09/2026 02:19

Da Ya Think I'm Sexy? -Rod Stewart.
(It's because i recently binge watched "Mandy" 😂)

Ladybird69 · 03/09/2026 02:22

Someone just mentioned baby shark in front of me the other day and now I can’t stop humming it. So annoying 🥴

Fatandknowit · 03/09/2026 02:26

🎶 Life is like a hurricane,
Here in Duckburg.... 🎶

Its fucking everywhere and, as much as loved it as a kid, I'm starting to hate it.

Help me!!

(A-woo-oo!)

Dance Macabre by Ghost.
🎶Just wanna be, wanna bewitch you in the moonlight 🎶

I love that song.
I had a Ghost song too, mine was Lachryma.

Overjoyed by Stevie Wonder .Its on youtube by a Russian group leonid that my DH likes . I like the song and think its clever and unusual . But my o my its a sticker so much so I have to physically avoid it. I find rachmaninovs variations on a theme by Paganini can shove it out without lingering . Thats how bad it is that i have to have a cure tune !

husbandcallsmepickle · 03/09/2026 05:58

Spanish Flea by Herb Alpert.
My colleague was singing it and we googled what it was called and then all ended up singing it.
I need a new earworm.

TheDogsMother · 03/09/2026 06:52

Random but Here comes my baby by the Tremeloes. I hadn’t heard it for about thirty years. It’s a sweet song though.

Sgtmajormummy · 03/09/2026 07:18

My Dolly Parton earworm was “Here you come again”. Jaunty but melancholy, a bit like “Jolene”.
Currently it’s Santana’s “She’s not there” and the robot dance tune “Digidigi hey”!

AutismMum2017 · 03/09/2026 08:21

I’ve got Adele - Skyfall this morning. No idea where that came from.

a couple of weeks ago, I had Damage - Ghetto Romance randomly in my head 🤣

DilemmaDelilah · 03/09/2026 08:24

I've just binge-watched all 3 series of 'Keeping Faith' and my earworms are the songs from that.

Myblueclematis · 03/09/2026 09:04

Good Time Girls Won't You Come Out Tonight.

It was at line dancing and I can't stop hearing it in my head, has been three days now.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 03/09/2026 09:07

Panic Station by Muse, I must have been stressed about something 😂

Cotopaxi · 03/09/2026 09:59

Today we have a random piece of rather jolly classical music, which I'm sure is from some ballet or other, but I can't remember which one.

I Write Sins not Tragedies - Panic! At the Disco. I even bloody dreamed about it last night and woke up singing 'with poise and rationality'.

I have found the best way to clear an earworm (at least temporarily) is to sing 'Horsey, Horsey, Don't you Stop' very very slowly a couple of times.

Doesn't help if you're going to dream about the bastard thing though.

Edited the title of the nursery rhyme because I'm at least fifty years too old to remember it properly!

JudithsDead · 03/09/2026 10:05

“We are from the planet Duplo and we have have come here to destwoy you”
Just over and over again. I’m saying it like fifty times a day, in the baby voice. DH is ready to leave me as are the kids.

WoollyPigeon · 03/09/2026 10:05

I've got the Ace of Base version of "Don't Turn Around" stuck in my head 😏

I had Good King.. in my head too, which then left me thinking about Love Actually... now that I'm typing I realise I have seen some of the actors from the film on GN's couch on instagram clips recently, but it still feels like a leap for my brain to have made.

My other ear worm is based on a dream from a few nights ago. I dreamed I was going to Beyonce's wedding and I was running late because I have become lazy and slow (IRL). Although I am aware of the importance of the Lemonade album, I don't know her music and the only song of hers that I know is All the Single Ladies, so I've been randomly going "whoa oh oh, whoa oh oh, oh oh, oh oh, oh oh ohhhh..." as I move about the house.
