Small inheritance - what would you do with it

Earlier this year my Aunt passed away and me and my siblings being the nearest relatives ( she had no children) have received some money. A small amount about 2.5k each .
I don't just want to spend it on day to day living/bills but also realize it is a small amount so I'm not going to be able to do a great deal with it.
So my question is what would you do with it?

When my Granny died I got a similar amount. I got an amazing painting. It will have increased in value I’m fairly sure in the intervening 30 years.
I was on holiday in France with my boyfriend and a gallery was having a sale of the artists work. I bought the best one I could afford. It’s pretty large and hangs above my desk. I think of her often.

@PeacheyPeachIf you have dc, put £500 into a fund for them for uni or post uni expenses. Add to it obviously! Then do the weekend away.

I had a small amount come in from one of those heir hunters, I hadn’t even thought about it but air conditioning unit is exactly what I am going to get. Thank you 🤩

It would depend on my current financial situation. If I was broke but enjoyed holidays abroad and hadn't been able to afford one for a few years, I would spend it on that.

If my sofa was hideous and knackered I would spend it on that.

If my car had died I would put it towards a new second hand car.

If I had massive debt, I would grit my teeth and spend it on that.

In my present circumstances I would probably spend it on meals out, theatre tickets, a European city break - medium sized luxuries I can't just do without planning and having money for.

tbh in reality I probably wouldn't do anything particular with it, just add it to the current account.

But if I wanted to do something special, then maybe a nice piece of furniture that would last.
