Having pointlessly looked for @lucysmamโ€˜s thread ๐Ÿ™„ , because itโ€™s not the weekend ffs!, what are you up to today?
I have prepared 4lbs of plums for jam, sorted out sausages, mash, onion gravy and onions for dinner, messed around going through my enormous craft stash looking for a specific book and had two mugs of coffee.
DH is taking bigger dog out shortly for a walk in the woods, Tiddlerโ€™s snoring her head off.
Itโ€™s damp out so the washing will have to wait until tomorrow. I have picked a big handful of runner beans for dinner, my favourite vegetable ๐Ÿ˜‹

ps. It hadnโ€™t even registered that itโ€™s a Bank Holiday!

Had a lie in and then poached eggs on toast for brunch.

Put the washer on and folded yesterday.

Pottered in the garden and repeatedly moaned about the showers.

I find it difficult to sit inside in the day so i'm sat in the car because it is too wet to sit outside.

Feeling low as I have a big decision to make and I really struggle with decisions.

Glad someone did a thread. Keep thinking itโ€™s Sunday! DHโ€™s birthday today. Ended up in a lovely town we donโ€™t visit very often & caught the tail end of a folk festival. We found a great cafe & had delicious carrot & walnut cake. Pot of tea for me & a latte for DH. Then we called in at an out of town shopping centre. I only wanted M & S gold teabags but ended up with a bunch of dark red asters & 3 bras as well. DD17 didnโ€™t want to come. She & her GF are not speaking so sheโ€™s feeling it. Wondering who will give in first! Having said Iโ€™m not buying any more on Vinted, I have found some absolute corkers today. People just have no idea what theyโ€™re selling. Reserved a lot so need to decide what to go for. Sold a dress for ยฃ5 & sent an offer to a buyer who favourited a designer top. Just waiting for the spuds to soften as I cut them rather big. Having Pieminister pies, double cream mash, peas & gravy. We watched Sixth Sense last night & Iโ€™d forgotten how good it was. May watch another film tonight.

On our way home from Sunshine Festival and although we were in a motorhome and not a tent there's still a big bag full of wet stuff to wash when we get home. I'm tired and achy but had a fantastic time. Next year's tickets already purchased, don't really care much whose playing it's just live music and friendly people.
Will be early to bed tonight!

Whereโ€™s the Sunshine Festival?

We did a tour of a Lighthouse and then walked along cliffs slept in our van by a very wild sea with water crashing against the rocks. Having cooked salmon and read a book in the evening. We are doing 6 weeks on The Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland. Just hit week 2.

That sounds absolutely wonderful @ViciousCurrentBun , wish I was there!
Iโ€™ve made 4lb of plum jam, cleaned and tidied up the kitchen, sorted out a load of washing and I am knackered.
I guess itโ€™s still early days following my op, 4 weeks ago today. Time is flying past, I must be getting really old ๐Ÿ˜

Yesterday I sat around waiting for Tesco opening at 10, didn't know they opened at 8 on a BH! Did some admin for my role as Church Treasurer, finshed remaking beds after last week's guests, went to the Churchyard to put flowers on late OH's slab on what would have been our 58th anniversary. In the evening I watched some of Professor T, trying to decide that I'd already seen before watching the new series, got very confused.

Whereโ€™s the Sunshine Festival?

Upton upon Severn, right next to the town who really enter into the spirit. There's always live music on at the pubs and one of the charity shops pulls out all the stops for fancy dress

A day late, but we met up with DD at IKEA. Swore I would never go there on a bank holiday. Took the best part of an hour to buy a replacement kitchen door, for one her friends who lives 200 miles away! Anyway, we then drove down to Chester Zoo. Special offer of ยฃ10 for entry after 3.00pm. Got there are 2.45 and was let in. The place was absolutely rammed. Most animals were having their afternoon nap, so spent 3 hours trying to spot a variety of animals hiding. But we did see a giant anteater which was amazing, and a sloth which was equally stunning. It even moved slightly! I am old enough to remember when the animals were kept in small cages, so to see them with space to move was good. They also have a good record of breeding endangered species. Not a huge lover of zoos, but Chester has a good reputation for animal welfare, and it was a good few hours, even if half the time we were looking at empty space.

My Bank Holiday: After a sleepless night with a crying dog, I spent 45 minutes trying to get through to our vet who, according to their website, was open, finally gave up and dialled their emergency number. That didn't work either. Made an appointmentment at a 24 hour, 7 days a week, animal hospital an hour away. Dog cried all the way there, but jumped out of the car wagging her tail when we arrived. State of the art building, state of the art prices, for a consultation and bottle of medicine.. Uncertain diagnosis, only way to be sure, an ultra sound costing a further ยฃ120 but I couldnโ€™t afford that. Had to stop on the way home because I was feeling sick. Walked dog, who now seemed perfectly happy, round a boating lake while she eyed ducks enthusiastically. Got home, made dinner for DH who has dementia and had spent the day watching Australian Masterchef, while dog slept off the excitement. Finally I dozed off during Vigil.
