Regretting my hybrid brows they’re too dark, should I remove them?

Hi all, I really need help with my brows as I’ve just got home from an appointment and bursted into tears at the state of my brows.

I haven’t had my brows done in a few years as I’m saving money so haven’t been spending on maintenance but I decided to treat myself and have them done. I went for hybrid brows as the pictures online looked nice but I really regret it…my eyebrows look like they’re very heavily drawn on, they’re really dark and striking (the front of the eyebrow isn’t lighter to make it look natural) and to make it worse they’ve not even been threaded to an even shape, one of my brows arch is way thicker then the other. I don’t wear much makeup but I always do my eyebrows as it’s the one thing I’m good at and take pride in so to now have them completely messed up I feel physically sick and so insecure, I’m supposed to be seeing my partner tomorrow and I now want to cancel all plans and hide.

I think when I had them done before they were HD brows which look a lot natural and in my opinion better (not to mention I went to a different place before and that person was a lot better). I’m really upset as mentioned im saving money and haven’t been getting anything done in years so this was supposed to be a nice treat for me but instead it’s been a massive mistake and waste of £120 (I had to get an uber there and back hence high price).

I’m really stressed out right now and feeling very low, I’m trying to tell myself it’ll be lighter tomorrow but I don’t think that’s true and even so the shape of the brows is messed up. At this point I feel like I should take the loss and just wipe them off while they’re still fresh as I really can’t walk around like this. Any advice would be really appreciated, is it best I just wipe them off?

I use nail varnish remover when I get my hair dyed and find a random bit of colour on my skin. Would that work?
did you go to a salon or a independent place? I’d be putting these pictures up on their Facebook page!

For the love of God,

PLEASE Please do not put acetone on your scalp as it will already be sensitised from the peroxide in the hair colour.

Did you not read a previous thread where the OP’s daughter had severe scalp burns that required plastic surgery to fix?

😩😩😩

@somanychristmaslights It was an actual salon, their reviews are 4.9/5 stars and the pictures on their website looked way better than what I’ve had done. Surprisingly the person I went to years ago who did a much better job was independent, I’m really unsure why the salon done such a bad job on me!

luckily I used some coconut oil to rub over my brows and they’ve lighted up and look a lot better…I’m still unhappy with them as they look very square, uneven and nothing like what was advertised but I’ve made them a lot manageable.

Omg ask for some remedial action to sort them out .

The shape is bad and they look too blocky, however I though HD brows are meant to give someone a bold, filled in look, which is what you have? Is it not one of those treatments that looks better after a few days?

MeganBoo · 29/08/2026 23:20

@Pinkgin00
This was hybrid brows which I believe is more filled in then HD brows, I’ve had HD brows previously and it looked a lot better and softer but it was also done by someone else who in my opinion is much better. I thought I’d try hybrid brows as mine are quite sparse and I knew it’d stain my skin but still wasn’t expecting them to be patchy and blocky as you mentioned and one the shape of my brows is very uneven. The pictures of hybrid brows on their website looked much better then what I’ve been left with, I believe they do fade but it takes a few days and I felt rather embarrassed having to walk around with big black square brows so I’ve wiped some off.
