I walked into the hall to see something from a horror film.

30 minutes, a pair of rubber gloves and a litre of dettol later and I am sweaty, traumatised and feel nauseous.

I need a shower and a cup of tea 😭

OMG I really feel for you. I hope the robot hadn’t spread it too far around the house.
I recently had a dog with tummy troubles who was confined to the kitchen but overnight he and his companion managed to treat it everywhere (large kitchen and study room).
Like you I felt so dirty after cleaning up.
I hope your dog’s tummy gets better soon.

It had taken it a good 3 metres down the hall.

The floor wasn't too bad, it was cleaning the hoover itself.

The occasional joys of animal ownership!

Something similar happened to someone I know, but with the added horror of underfloor heating….

I am not a wasteful person and by no means wealthy but you’re a bigger woman than me. I’d have laid the vacuum to rest, in the bin, immediately.

I was given a cheap used one to try for a few months to see how we got on.

Had no incidents so invested in this one which cost hundreds just days ago! So I couldn't throw it out 😭

I have switched off the automatic starts now just in case!

I had this happen with cat vomit although it was reasonably dry by the time it got to it (happened some time overnight, vacuum goes on early morning). You have my sympathy, I think I’d have given up on it with loose poo!

I have a robot vacuum, it potters around uselessly upstairs , escapes from the bedroom, doesn't pick up sock fluff, gets stuck under th8ngscor trying to cross things.
Then decides " I'm done now" in what I imagine to be a Lee Evans voice.

Until one of our cats....
I went into the bedroom thinking " What's that smell?"
One of the cats had chucked up , luckily not out the other end. The vacuum sailed through dispensing the regurgitated food.
Cleaning up and cleaning the bloody vacuum....
It is now in my DS room.

I have gone NC with it. The Shark vacuum is far superior.
