Has anyone had an affair without feeling guilty afterwards?

Hi,

might seem a strange question but has anyone ever had an affair or ONS whilst married or in n a relationship and not felt guilt?

DH and I went through a very rocky patch 28 mo the ago and I slept with another guy twice. Fast forward to now- we worked on our marriage and were in such a better place. I’ve never confessed to DH but I don’t feel any guilt. Is was what I needed at the time.

Does this make me a terrible person?

Maybe - but having to explain she had it and how she might have got it ruined their marriage.

He adored her and was destroyed when he found out. Never say never, but I would have been astonished if he ever cheated on her.

I haven’t, no. But when I was single and on a hookup app I had sex with a string of married men who were on there too. I don’t feel a flicker of guilt. You could spot the ones who were really looking for a way out of their relationship and the - far more numerous - ones who essentially treat sex as their favourite physical hobby. I would never say it is a good thing but am really not convinced that the sum of human happiness would be greater if every couple without 100% fidelity split up.
