Just me and DH no kids...Sunday had planned picnic and walk round St James Park but forecast rain most of day!
Any ideas on what we can do?

Victoria and Albert Museum - especially the Medieval Gallery and the Raphael cartoons.

Have lunch somewhere nearby. Maybe Ceru in Bute Street or Comptoir Libanais at the end of Exhibition Road, close to the tube.

Walk to Harrods and check out the Food Hall. Or walk across Hyde Park if it brightens up. Great exhibition at the Serpentine Gallery (Cecily Brown - I think it’s still on?)

Take the bus to Piccadilly and check out the National Gallery. Alternatively go to Tate Britain.

Or the Courtauld at Somerset House, next to Waterloo Bridge. Have a coffee there too.

Or across the river to to Tate Modern or the Imperial War Museum.

Or there’s the Uber boats down to Tower Bridge or upriver to Battersea Power Station - now a shopping mall.

Or you could take a bus to Westminster Abbey - sometimes they have organ recitals late afternoon . Or check out St. Paul’s.

Soooooo many options….. so much to see and do - but so little time!

"It will be raining in London so there is nothing to do" - said no one ever.

Exactly. I really wish I was spending a rainy BH weekend in London now. Last time I was there (briefly) it was 35. I think I prefer it in the rain to be honest!

Can you tell us a bit more about the original plan? Are you restricted to that bit of London? Does it need to be free/fairly cheap? How long do you have? I’m guessing about 60
mins tops as St James’
Park is fairly small so it only takes about 30 mins to walk around and then I don’t suppose you’d plan on sitting around there for long as it’s so heat stricken at the moment.
