What to expect from a voluntary police interview over criminal damage allegation

My Husband has today been asked to attend voluntary police interview , as a local farmer who we have run in with before ( he accused us of hare coursing as we let our dogs run free ) has accused him of cutting some barb wire he put up, blocking a path.we have walked for 9 years. We.noticed the wire and just walked our dogs elsewhere, but what can we expect now. Although he has not done the damage we are worried , I have got a solicitor to attend the interview as this we dont.know what to expect.

sorry I see you have a solicitor. It’s completely free and they will guide you through the whole process. It doesn’t mean you are guilty or imply anything to the police.
(speaking as a solicitor who sees so often people make things worse by doing these voluntary interviews alone and then asking solicitors for advice!)

There's no way this would pass any kind of public interest test with the cps. Just take the solicitors advice when he attends.

So after waiting 2 weeks for the interview , My Husband attended today's interview, the farmer produced a video of my husband ducking under some branches with a bit of barb wire ( though none can be seen in the video) no indication of the location just the farmers word of were he set the video up. He's accused my husband of been confrontational and the farmer took the time to discuss the actual public foot paths available ( never happened ) .
They had the theft of a electric fence generator, he's been accused of that, though.no evidence what do ever plus he didn't take it.
The solicitor made appeared statement to apologise for ducking through the barb wire, said we should get a fine. But if the farmer wants to take it further it will have to go to court. The farmer is nasty enough to do.this.which is so worrying as my husband works for a school.
We have had it out on record the intimidation we have received over the last few months, from the farmer and workers. I was walking on a public footpath, which is a rough road through the field and he purposefully drove behind me slowly, even though I stood on the grass to let him by did not go by, when he did he did so at speed and very close. There been other things , we changed our dog walking route so we walk purely public walk . We have been told to contact the.police should we have any more issues with the farmer.
So now we are left waiting to see why happens, don't even know.how.much we will be fined.

I might also suggest that you put in your own complaint about his threatening behaviour, that might deter him, especially given what he had done with vehicles. In particular I suggest that you ask the Police to sieze his vehicles under S59
