Can't be a nurse anymore

After 11 years, I'm done. I'm completely burnt out, going home in tears. So stressed all the time. I need to change careers.
However, I also have a mortgage and bills to pay. Has anyone changed career from nursing to something else and what do you do now? Thank you

Sorry I've taken a while to reply, this week has just destroyed me mentally and physically. Thank you so much everyone for your kindness and suggestions, a lot to think about here. I appreciate it a lot.

Im sick to death of the NHS right now OP. I was going to work past 67 but Im done. As soon as I get to 67 in a couple of years Im off and they can all go to hell.

No shame of going to tbe gp to get signed off.

Probably just as good as any other career you will switch to.

OP I can really identify with how you feel. I’m feeling the same after 36 years nursing. Have you considered practice nursing? I’ve been in this role 3 years now & it’s def a real change from hosp nursing. Most don’t pay AfC scales & pay is generally not great, but the hours are good. I’ve also done private hospital outpatient work for 8 years - again they pay less than AfC & we had appts til 8.30pm & Sat til 2pm.
