I am watching Breaking Bad for the first time...

I actually hated it, I watched it about 2 years ago for the first time and persevered because everyone said how good it was, but there was not one character I cared about.

In most series the villains have something appealing about them, Tommy Shelby, Judith in Ride or Die, or if they don't the surrounding characters do. I just couldn't find that in Breaking Bad. I tried two episodes of Better Call Saul and thought, no just stop, don't do this to yourself again and gave up.

Unpopular opinion, I thought it was the most overrated show ever.
Started watching because of the hype but gave up after the 2nd series. For me The West Wing is the best American tv show ever

This show got me through the first lockdown!

Mind you, I nearly gave up in horror when (first or second episode so not a spoiler) the body in the acid bath started ‘leaking’ and had to be wiped up…

Actually agree with this. You must love Micheal C Hall too! I have never cried as much as i cried watching the last episode of Six Feet Under.

I'm watching The Wire for the first time. Couldn't understand it first time round but there are subtitles now. Just started series 5. It is brilliant, I agree, even though I have a visceral aversion to Dominic West and his limited range 'cheeky chappy grin' expression delivered in every circumstance.

I always thought Breaking Bad was the best TV drama ever, with Mad Men and Succession close runners up. But what I love about The Wire is its less manufactured storylines. Things seem to evolve (or not) very naturally and slowly and lots remains unresolved, like in life. I SO want Prez to adopt Duquan, Bunny to adopt Namond and Ellis to adopt Randy but it's so realistic that it will never happen.

Amazing series.. skip the 'Fly' episode though.

LOVED. Hated Skyler though.

To those who loved BB and wish they could watch it again, can I recommend 'Snowfall'. It's up there.....

The characters are, at best, deeply flawed but I ended up with a soft spot for Jesse.

I am in a tiny minority because I tried watching the first episode, was very keen having read many good reviews, and found I could not stand to carry on.

If you liked BB, you might like Ozark. Ozark is a great show with some amazing female characters.
