Are these eggs alright ?

Does the fact they’re white mean they’re imported ?

Different breeds lay different coloured eggs. Araucanas are supposed to lay blue eggs, but sometimes lay green ones, so you'd definitely be in for a surprise if they turned up in your egg box!

I have friends with chickens and ducks who have a whole rainbow (as far as egg colours go!) in their egg box. There are so many eggs that they live on top of the microwave. Mine go in a box on the window-sill.

I did mean breed and had in fact put white in quote marks , but then deleted them. Guess it was silly of me to use short hand though.

I live in a drafty Victorian house in Scotland, so I think I'm probably good. My kitchen can only dream of being above 20 degrees! The eggs are more in danger of freezing to death.

The 1UK stamped on the eggs means that they are British free range eggs. The other number (19302) is the ID of the farm.

I buy my eggs from the milkman and they come from a farm 12 miles away. The eggs always used to be brown but the last couple of boxes have been white.

I doubt the eggs that caused the salmonella were from a supermarket. I work in a Coop and i'm sure all the eggs we sell are British/Lion Mark. Id be surprised if Tesco or Sainsbury's etc weren't the same.

Sainsbury's have switched hen breed to be more environmentally friendly or something.

They look like perfectly good eggs, probably from some other egg-laying animal, perhaps a crocodile. I'm sure there should be no health concerns, but as the saying goes, "suck it and see".

If you're not sure how to suck eggs, ask your grandmother.

Yep nothing wrong with them. I've been getting them from Morrisons and Tesco for ages. Don't keep them in the fridge either. No need!
