Awake with gallbladder pain anybody want to chat?

I'm awake with a gallbladder flare up. I'm awaiting an operation at some point in the near future.
Anybody want to chat?

Aware with what ive been told is gastritis and nausea, i feel so rough, tempted to phone my gp see if they can do anything more

I sympathise as I had gallstones, which unfortunately damaged my pancreas permanently and led to major pancreas surgery too much later on. Thankfully for most people, once GB removed life returns to normal once it’s removed. My advice is always get it removed asap as those little stones can cause a lot of damage.

Re liver, no-one tested my LFTs when I had gallstones but after the surgery I woke up in a lot of pain and so they did more tests which was the start of the pancreas issue discovery and some of my liver levels were over 1000, meant to be under 50.

I only had 2 gallbladder attacks before it was removed, and they lasted maybe 6hrs of severe pain. I had it removed 4 months after discovery. They found the gallstones 6wks after my open appendix removal, I was still recovering from that when I had ongoing pain.

No I don't go every time I have a flare up, didn't think to to be honest. Perhaps I should. At least it would be in my records then.

@MyGallbladderIsAFucker yes, it would be worth contacting your GP, even if it's through an e Consult & you have a phonecall back from them. This is what I did after a bad episode where I needed 2 weeks off work because of it. That was in March, I was seen in May, had various other tests pre op (MRI & CT) and operation in July.

It can escalate & cause other potential problems if not sorted.

my sympathies. I had mine out 5 years ago. The operation and recovery was very straightforward. Would definitely recommend x
