I’m quite shook after discovering that my DH’s Christmas party will feature a very prominent R+B duo from the early 2000s.

the invitation had been sat on our table for over a week and today I decided to look at it. Called DH got ask if he’s aware of who is performing? He’s like oh yea I had their album

You should hear who my company had the last few years. Think lady gaga level.

We got a murder mystery where all the actors were drunk and forgot everything. I'm jealous!

I work for the nhs now So no fancy parties - more meals and nights out that we fund ourselves obviously, but I used to work for a big commercial company years ago who put on amazing Christmas parties and hospitality and one year we went to a big meal and they’d hired Rick Astley to sing! I have to say he was good and people my age and older loved him bit some of the younger staff had never heard of him!

Briefly in NY where my friend's son who works in Google told me that Katy Perry was due to appear at the party.

I went to a client event at which Vernon Kay was DJing and he was awful. Funnily enough, after 15 years of these talks and events with some of the biggest names from music, business and sport, I can safely say the best and most engaging were never the most famous. Which makes you wonder how they got there in the first place 🤷‍♀️

They are performing anywhere currently … must need the money. Saw them in Southend a few years ago … only ok.

Ah, back in the v early 2000s I worked for an achingly cool media company and Roachford played - the only song I knew of his was Cuddly Toy, and I thought the roof would blow off the venue as everyone sang along. These events are fiun, enjoy!!

I don’t remember them but sure I would if I heard their music?

We used to get serenaded by whoever had drunk the most, but had free beers & wine, Christmas dinner & transport.

Now we get some crisps or pretzels and a glass of mulled wine to be eaten/drunk while standing outside as there’s nowhere else to go. I’m amazed anyone attends but maybe I’m just a grinch who hates mulled wine?
