Do you ever wear your wedding dress again?

I've been married for 17 years, and I've worn mine again only three times. Once because I wanted to see myself in it again, once for my husband, and once for a photoshoot.

I'm curious has anyone else worn their wedding dress again after the big day, or has it been stored away forever?

I've worn mine to several Halloween parties, and have lent it out as well. MIL made it. It's indestructible and machine washable despite looking quite delicate. She was delighted every time she heard it'd had a new outing.

I got married in 1975, and kept my dress until last year I tried it on again just for fun...it still fitted, but the stitching had rotted. So unfortunately I had to put in the bin.
Very upsetting, but it had survived 51 years 🙂

I'd be so delighted it still fitted. That is impressive!

I had a tiny waist before children. Mine was very tight fitting and my waist is a good four (probably six) inches bigger now than it iwas 30 years ago.

That's lovely. I love my wedding dress but it definitely isn't one you could use in other circumstances, unless it was donated to a theatrical costumier.

I only got married 6 and a half years ago but it wouldn’t fit since having 2 kids. Maybe one day!

I plan to let DD play dress up when she is older.

No, but love that you do. Mine’s packed away in a box in the loft, but I would love to wear it again so much! I will definitely get it out to show my daughter soon.

No it was put in my DDs fancy dress box. Has also been used for Halloween.

I have always worn the same beautiful suit to all my weddings. Although it does not seem as bigly as it was.

I always apply a new coat of Nars Taj Mahal blusher for the photos afterwards, as the contrast with 'Old Faithful' - my blue suit -makes me look younger and detracts from the frayed cuffs and non-meeting buttons.
(I get lots of comments of how I look.)

Just out of interest, what do you think it was that made Melania want to marry your millionaire self?

Many years ago my DD tried mine on. There was a 4 inch (at least) gap down the back, so couldn't do it up. I was under 7st when I married!

Tried it on once or twice, especially since losing a great amount of weight. Moving house and just thought I don’t want to transport it, so gave it to charity last week. I can’t imag8ne when I’d ever wear it again.
