Really cheesed off with the price of chocolate, so I thought I’d buy biscuits instead.

viscount. What a disappointment.
club. The same

all my favourite lunchtime favourites are disappointing

What’s a really good snack biscuit with a good coating of chocolate?

Chocolate hobnobs, Mrs Crimble chocolate coconut,

TheChosenTwo · 08/07/2026 19:54

I had a borders biscuit recently at work and it left me with that telltale nasty coating, horrible mouthfeel aftertaste that comes from palm oil.
Honestly the mass widespread palm oil being pumped into all this stuff has been tremendous for me, I just don’t bother eating any of it anymore! The biscuit that I had came in a pack of 2 and I offered the other to a colleague. Sorry op, no help here 😂

My favourites! Tesco and Lidl do a great dupe

I love custard creams, and I love chocolate, I thought I would love these but I do not!

My go to is a bourbon biscuit.

Me too! I didn’t like them. I feel bad saying this but I work in a posh office and these are actually provided as snacks 🙈

mylifeisexams · 08/07/2026 21:08

I like Bahlsen as well, especially the orange and mint ones. Hope they haven’t turned to shit as well while my back’s been turned.

DC like pickups as well which is the same brand but they have hazelnuts in so I don’t send to school.

They’re called this in my house too 🤦🏻‍♀️

Allaboutme23 · 09/07/2026 00:12

Partial to a lesbian pack too 😆
A good biscof lotus biccie. I say good as I believe Poundland versions are the cheapo , I'd rather eat sawdust versions , waste of a quid.
Drinks biscuits - who'd have thought I'd love a savoury biscuit? These are the reason to have an wine or beer even if you don't drink !

ohmygoshafullday · 09/07/2026 00:16

M&S outrageously milk chocolate rounds. Yum!

Wishitsnows · 09/07/2026 00:20

These are my favourite and I like their orange flavour friends. M&S biscuits in general are the best imo

bolognazey · 09/07/2026 02:57

The M&S choc covered custard creams that have the extra thick chocolate (I think there’s a normal version and ‘outrageous’ version. I bought these and they were so good. Craving one now but I’m on a diet!

Gosh just remembered that M&S chocolate tea cakes with marshmallow were amazing. Wonder if they still are.

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 09/07/2026 08:45

OK, I’m thick… but what precisely are lesbian biscuits?

I’m cheese biscuits all the way, btw. Particularly with lots of butter.

Enko · 09/07/2026 08:49

Littlebitpsycho · 08/07/2026 17:35

Can confirm these are incredible 😲

Personally I find them inedible. Overly sweet and dry while claggy still - unsure how they managed that. Each to their own I guess.

Op have you considered non chocolate biscuits like LU or Bonne Maman they may give you the sweetness you are craving without the disappointment

Davros · 09/07/2026 08:52

M&S also do thick chocolate covered bourbons and, I read in a handy leaflet last week, more are being introduced to the range. I used to love their tea cakes but they changed the recipe, much softer and gooey marshmallow, more like Tunnocks which are fine, but I liked them being different

Bjorkdidit · 09/07/2026 09:15

Another vote for florentines, not cheap though, but you can often find Fudges on offer.

Off the wall suggestion, but what about buying something like shortbread fingers and dipping them in chocolate yourself? Aldi and Lidl still do the cheap chocolate bars, I think they're now 60/70 p for 100 g.

Or I had white chocolate Twix bars not so long ago, they were nice - I much prefer a chocolate biscuit to solid chocolate.
