People posting personal stuff on business accounts.

I’ve just had to unfollow another account for a business on Instagram because they last few posts have been about her daughters wedding. I might see one and scroll on but it’s multiple posts for the last few days. Don’t people have any business skills.

I followed someone on Facebook who did craft workshops, I actually booked her through work to do workshops a few times. Her daughter was then getting married and the whole account became that. I unfollowed at the point she shared 300 photos from her daughter’s first hen do, there was a second to come! She tagged her personal account in so it’s not like she didn’t have another way to share it. A colleague saw her and apparently was complaining that her interaction/followers were down and she was struggling for business as it was the main way she interacted with people. No awareness of why it happened and my colleague didn’t dare say.

Im still shocked at oversharing I see but when you account is for something completely different it seems crazy.

Adjacent to this is the irritating habit of accounts claiming they're "in Facebook jail" and pleading with their followers to like/share/comment on their posts to help get their posts seen.

It wasn't a business but I unfollowed a local "influencer" because every other post was her whining that no-one was interacting with her posts. No, because they were all re-posts of things she'd done with her children 10yrs ago.

It's even worse when businesses do it.

One of our neighbours owns a very successful building company and we were about to get a quote from them for a loft conversion until they started sharing Farage and Tommy Ten Names content to their business page. Nope, I don’t need that shit in my life or my home.

I follow a local Real Estate company & I've noticed in the last wee while there have been cooking lessons - of a sort - in the staff/work kitchen. Like airfryer wraps, today it's pumpkin soup in a slow cooker. Last week it was showing off her new grandson spilling up on her shoulder.
Sorry, these are reels made & shared by the business owner.
I'm tuning out as none of these, obvs, are houses for sale & not entirely sure that the supposed target audience want to see all this current stuff.
Is it a marketing slant being pushed onto social media businesses to reach more customers?
