Clever bathroom ideas

Hi, we are planning a bathroom renovation. So expanding the bathroom, having a double vanity, wall hung integrated toilet and a walk in shower only - no bath. I want to keep it simple and elegant with as much hidden away as possible.

Does anyone have any suggestions/ideas on what I should/shouldn’t include. What’s something unique that you absolutely must have in a new bathroom that you didn’t have before? not just fixtures and fittings but lighting, wall tiles (I want large stone creamy white tiles), bath mats (currently looking at stone mats). I don’t want to get to the end of the renovation and realise I’ve missed something or made a mistake. - help!

Have tiles top to toe; no painted walls. You’ve mentioned large tiles, go as large as possible as grout gets filthy so the less, the better. If you are in a hard water area, choose the colour with care.

Morning - off to order everything today and finalise the plans. Having the shower controls away from the shower. Having floor to ceiling tiles (large ones). The works are either starting this Monday or a week on Monday.

We got a square of electric underfloor heating under ours, absolute game changer. Wall cubbies for all your shampoos etc. And I had a reading lamp over my bathtub so I don’t need the full light on which is one of my absolute favourite things (but I see you’re not having a bathtub)

wish I’d done: not had black taps and accessories even though they look amazing, they take a lot of cleaning. Had a bigger gap behind my sink, or alternatively no gap at all.

Extractor fan control separate from the lights.
Wall mounted toothbrush charger, but be aware that the most popular one only charges Braun toothbrushes.
Smooth tiles so you can use suction cups if you want.

We Just had ours done and the best thing is the light up mirror. You can change the tone and it doesn't steam.up.
