We have just watched all the Star Wars movies, my dd13 loved those. Guardians of the galaxy series also a hit. She also loved The Fall Guy with Ryan Gosling.

She is obsessed with the cornetto trilogy. Her favourite being Hot Fuzz, then Shaun of the Dead, then The Worlds End.

Myself and my DD who is 14 have just watched the Enola Holmes films on Netflix. We both really enjoyed them and the third one is out on Wednesday.

The Mission: Impossible franchise - there’s loads of them and they are mostly good

I like the Jurassic parks. oceans trilogy and the girl one. The last stand with Arnold swarzneggar is worth a go. Anything with Jason statham! the divergent series maybe. Speed.

@WolfinSheepsDressmight be worth starting with 2? 2 is really good and the first one was criticised for being hard to follow

Brooklyn70 · 28/06/2026 08:45

watched Super 8 last night, it has a very 80s feel and it was really fun.

its directed by JJ Abrahams (action king) and produced by Spielberg (hence the kids in the 80s adventure vibe).

i highly recommend it.

A train crash sets off a series of bizarre events in a small town. When Jack Lang, the deputy sheriff, begins the investigation, he uncovers a shocking secret.

If you want action films, mine loved the Mission Impossibles, the Bourne films, The Edge of Tomorrow, Pacific Rim.

If you want mother-daughter films, Legally Blonde, Pitch Perfect, Miss Congeniality, Clueless were also big hits.

How about a heist movie to mix it up - Oceans 11? The Sting?
also Point Break

Edited

Love the sting but the plot maybe too slow moving for her.
Point break is good but maybe a bit old for her ?
