There's a storm active where I live. Am on the coast of county Durham.
If you're experiencing it where are you?

I'm envious. We're supposed to get it later. Has it cooled the temp down any?

Must have missed our part of Somerset, 1 flash of lightning and 1 bang 15 minutes of some sort of rain.

Yes, crazy storm here near Newcastle! Don’t think i have ever heard thunder like that!

Newcastle - that was the loudest thunder I'd ever heard. Now just sort of sploshy rain which is neither particularly heavy or light. I'm disappointed because I was hoping the storm would shift a pressure headache that's going to make work difficult today

We had thunder and lightning overnight, more thunder this morning and it’s raining now. Last day of school and rain predicted for the next week - marvellous.

South east coast here. No sign of a storm but we've started a bit of a cooler breeze. We had a big one earlier in the week but it made no difference to the temperature sadly.

Edinburgh, we had fantastic thunder and lightning during the night.

I was woken by the loudest and brightest thunder and lightening I’ve ever seen at 2.45. It went on forever, right above me and it was seriously impressive. I sat up watching it for about an hour.

Durham, lasted all of 30 minutes! So annoyed, my son is really struggling with the heat and didn’t go to school today need it to clear the air a bit. 89 % humidity here now.

On holiday on the Yorkshire coast. Rain has finally stopped but it was torrential. The street turned in to a river.

Co Durham here as well. I could hear distant rumbles of thunder from about 6am with the heavens opening about 8.30am. It's cooled things down nicely.

I’m actually jealous, had nothing in the midlands apart from about 2 minutes of rain and today is unbearably humid. I love a good storm.

South Cambridgeshire here. It's like moving through a sauna outside.

We had hail in Devon last night. Got up to shut the window and wondered what that noise was!

It was grumbling early on then we had heavy showers, now its cleared up but is filthy hot again and now incredibly humid too. Also south inland County Durham.

We had it 7:30-8am in my bit of Yorkshire, biblical rain and thunder.

Can confirm it has not cooled it down whatsoever, quite the opposite in fact and it’s hideously muggy! It is 30.3° in my kitchen right now which is the hottest it’s ever been I think.

I’m very much a sun lover but this is actually grim!

Hat it at 3pm. Now roasting again. NW
