I have had to cut down my granola habit to once a week so what I lack want to make up for with quality. What is your fav?

Best so far is the Ottoleghi one DS got me for Xmas which I have reordered despite being ruinously expensive 😬

What are the best ones you have tried?

Natures Path: nice and nobbly granola

Isn't the treat of granola the fact that you open the box and there it is? Yum yum!

Making it yourself, although very worthy, spoils that completely.

I hear you BUT most off the shelf granola boxes last me all of five mins 😆 whereas when I make it myself I make a really massive kilner jar full

OP this stuff is good (as are their granola bars) https://toatilly.co.uk/collections/granola

Dorsets Chocolate & Cherry. Delicious.

My husband loves this one!!
I’ve made my own in the past and it’s been really good - put whatever you want in!!

Lifesyoungdream · 19/06/2026 08:26

I make my own using a Jamie Oliver recipe but I half the amount of honey he uses.

Myblueclematis · 19/06/2026 08:41

I tried the Aldi nut one quite a while ago and I did think that was very nice. I rarely eat cereal so haven't bought any more of it but if I did, this would probably be it.

JacketPotatoFoodOfTheGods · 19/06/2026 08:44

Homemade!

EveryKneeShallBow · 19/06/2026 08:57

Homemade. I have a five litre jar that I fill once a month. I put all organic nuts seeds, coconut flakes, maple syrup, honey, peanut butter, vanilla, cinnamon, whatever comes to hand. I don’t like fruit or chocolate. I also have to measure it out to stop me going crazy with it.

CharnwoodFire · 19/06/2026 07:00

@ShodAndShadySenators where do you buy freeze-dried fruit from?

Amazon - I've used Brix and Honeyberry for a long while now, they're both pretty good

Iwanttobeafraser · 19/06/2026 11:55

I like the Jordans nut ones. But mostly I make our own. We use a lot of nuts and seeds in ours and I usually eat it with blueberries and yoghurt.

CanterThroughChaos · 19/06/2026 11:56

This is the best I’ve tried

Homemade - the difference is like that between instant & real coffee. That said it's been a while since I made it as I'm on my summer breakfast while raspberries etc are at their best (full-fat Greek yoghurt, raspberries, maybe strawberries & blueberries too, chopped whole skin-on almonds & a drizzle of honey to taste). B

But I THINK it's this recipe (I leave out dried fruit & add coconut flakes). The maple syrup makes it!

The Very Best Granola

This delicious healthy granola recipe is the best! It's naturally sweetened with maple syrup (or honey). Just add oats, coconut oil, nuts and dried fruit.

@momager22 I am 51 and short so need to reduce calorie intake. My maintanence is a pathetic 1300/day, so I have cut out granola, wine, cheese apart from Sat/Sun. I feel deprived if I don't get a proper big dinner so this is what works for me.
But I miss granola!

Aldi Brain Health Granola

faithfultoGeorgeMichael · 19/06/2026 12:35

I have been persuaded to make my own despite knowing I will eat 10Kcal of nuts and syrup whilst I am 'cooking' 😂😂

Fortnum and Mason used to do one, I got it my mum once to make her feel all posh and special but they seem to have stopped.

Bio & Me. Lots of different varieties. No added sugar. Scores very highly on the Zoe app.

Well, that does tend to be a problem, admittedly ...!! It's snacking on it that's my downfall ... get someone in your household to hide it during the week!! It really is worth trying that recipe I posted though ... enjoy your weekend cheese, wine & granola!

faithfultoGeorgeMichael · 19/06/2026 14:14

@EleanorMc67 I realise that might be mistaken for 10cal when I mean 10K cal, 10 000, which I would tuck away 😂

I sometimes tell myself I am having a healthy evening snack of fruit and yogurt then realise it is essentially a deconstructed fruit crumble and double cream I am shovelling down in front of the tele 😂

Another vote here for homemade. Now I make my own I can't imagine ever going back to shop bought. I love knowing I can change it every time with the fruit/seeds/nuts I use. I also love having a glass jar full of it on my kitchen worktop to admire 😅

People loose more weight when eating full-fat not diet yoghurts, cheeses etc, according to studies - so enjoy your creamy Greek full-fat yoghurt!

faithfultoGeorgeMichael · 19/06/2026 16:08

I do eat full fat everything @EleanorMc67 , but less of it! 😂I don't want to lose any weight but was gaining 2lb a month and needed a change in routine.

M&S or Jordans. I find they are both equally as good. I always get the tropical fruit.
