The best bit about MN in the last 5 years was the two weeks of the Haha emoji.

Maybe Gen Alpha will save us from puritanism. Spending their formative years on Italian Brain Rot might make them more like Gen X and the Boomers.

I haven't been on here long enough to remember your Friday night threads, but I do remember back in 2004 and onwards for many years, being a member of another Forum where we had a pub and other silly threads. Being a single Mum, home alone with the kids on long lonely Friday and Saturday nights etc the forum was a great place to chat and have a laugh, debate something serious if you wanted to as well. There were some nasty buggers on there too mind, but not to the extent of them on here.
We even had real life meet ups, the majority of us were even normal! They were great times, sadly mostly killed off with the arrival of Facebook.

a Lot stopped posting on there due to fb and later on the chat board part of it was no more and an end of an era

I’ve been here 20plus years I miss the photo of the bat that would randomly appear… and that photo of dear old Terry Wogan.

Not sure it is the same one, it's still going for a start, albeit a very very quiet forum nowadays. We had big meet ups in cities with people flying in from Canada and the USA and travelled from all over the Uk. It was a bit nuts when you think about it, my family was agog with open mouths when I announced I was setting off on a six hour drive to meet a bunch of strangers off the internet, I'm not sure I'd do it now!

Couple of these posters at least are still around under a different name, sometimes starting ridiculous threads just because they’re bored. Then go on Twitter to boast about it, as if it’s something to be proud of.
