How often do you make the effort with people?

How often do you 'bother' with people? It appears on here people know alot of flaky people and are often disappointed. I feel the same at times and after a recent disappointment have stepped back a bit. I realised I do the collections in work, sometimes im the 1st to contact people etc and I suppose I just can't be arsed anymore. I don't want to be a hermit but I just can't be bothered

@GreenOpalFruits do they make an effort for staff birthdays generally?

It may be that they'll do something for you on the staff outing, if that's something they normally do.

Yes I dialled back efforts aswell. We do work birthdays just buy for own drivers (school bus) otherwise its never ending gifts.. I make effort with a few friends thats it. They keep in touch too

I quite often contact people I've not seen for a while to arrange a meet up. Not sure I'd call it "an effort" though. Someone pops into my head, and, if I enjoy their company, I message asking if they fancy meeting up.

If someone invites me to something, I go (if I don't already have something else on). Again, I don't consider it "an effort", I think "How nice, Bob has invited me to his party".
