Nah, he'll be on the beer with Arsenal fans, early bus out tomorrow morning so planning on making it through.

However, he is my age, so we'll see. Knowing him, he'll blag a spot on someone's hotel room floor.

No way to tomorrow, if I couldn't make Villa's, I'm sure as hell not tfl-ing it across London for your lot, however happy I as to support them today!

😄😄 fair enough tbh - that'll be good, really hope he makes the parade fine, after the effort hes gone to

Me too. I think he'll go straight there, if he makes it. His wife will have to hose him down at the front door when he eventually makes it home!

I do feel down 😄😄
Just like meh

Some spirits still high here near the stadium - couple of cars honking on our road

Sally's back on the other thread

She’s so full of hate, and with the shite that comes of it she must have a permanent taste of bile.
Just landed at Heathrow and on our way to the stadium. Along with many others so it would seem.
Weather is looking good and I am hoping the team are looking forward to the parade too.

It’s pretty sad really isn’t it. Sad Sal!

Have a great day. My partner’s on the way back home now. His legs are playing up so we’re not gong to go to the parade. Might go out for a nice lunch instead to continue the celebrations!

Thanks. We’re hoping it is a celebration rather than being downbeat.
Thats a shame but have a lovely lunch.
I think DS is thinking he’s going to starve as there is not likely to be much food around.
Not sure I will be able to listen to him complaining so might have to see what we can find.

Whosthetabbynow · Yesterday 10:29

Well done to both teams. I was hoping for a PSG win because I’ve loved their football all through the tournament. On the other hand it would’ve been nice for the England players chosen for the World Cup to have gone into it on a high from winning yesterday. Enjoy the parade today everyone. Well deserved (PS that should’ve been a penalty) xx

my trip down here despite appearances has been a bloody disaster, I have a whole thread if anyone’s interested 😂

went up to Finsbury Park after the game yesterday with a view to going to the ground (all closer tube stops were closed) but the atmosphere was so flat that we stopped in the first pub, had a couple of drinks and went back again. I wanted a few minutes alone to go stand outside Highbury and pay my respects to my dad whose ashes are buried there but my ‘mate’ wouldn’t let me go anywhere alone, that’s a whole other story.

Happily I have the great advice from @MauriceTheMussel so will be heading up that way soon as my mum gets into King’s Cross… I’ve never been so pleased to see her put it that way!

oh and here’s today’s fit…

I'm intrigued as to what happened yesterday, but hope you have a better day today!

SunshineOnIslington · Yesterday 10:59

@DialSquare can I gatecrash your lunch?? Sounds preferable 😂

Oh and salty, sad sack Sal needs to get a life. Whilst I don’t disagree there are some fans who jump on the bandwagon when a team starts winning things (Man City I’m looking at you) some of us are tied to those big clubs for life through birth, or design, or something in between. I did used to stand on the terraces of my local club as a teenager though, when they were in division 3 and you had to be careful in case someone literally pissed on your chips…

I’m feeling a bit flat today but I keep telling myself that we won the one that really matters, although missing out on the one we don’t have does hurt. I’m so proud of the team who got so close and there’s no blame game going on in my house. Next year will be our year for the CL trophy 🥳

I’m unable to get down for the parade today but will be watching where I can via a live link (I believe it’ll be on YouTube or Arsenal.com).

My Dad grew up with Arsenal as his local team and when his Dad passed, I was given his commemorative 70/71 double winning publications, which I still have. I often went to games through my teens and still try to get to the occasional game when successful in the ballot as we have two silver memberships in our family but we live in the north now so not always easy and can be a very costly day out.

mumofoneAloneandwell · Yesterday 11:59

Morning all (barely)

I'm exhausted!

Yesterday's loss has taken the shine off of the parade today and I dont feel remotely sad about missing it

Me and autistic dd will have it on the tv, we'll do some celebrations when the cup is lifted and then call it a day i think

Some videos ive seen show it looking rammed already, so it was the right call to keep dd home!!

Hope everyone going has a lovely time! 🥰

About 90% of people I’ve seen this morning are wearing some sort of arsenal colours, and that’s not an exaggeration! Part of me hopes we’ve left it too late for a good viewing position and we can give up and go somewhere else until the train (aka Zara on Oxford street)

MauriceTheMussel · Yesterday 12:15

@SunshineOnIslington - so Essex Rd is busy, but Beresford, Petherton and top end of Green Lanes actually way less rammed than I thought! (I did a run about 45 mins ago)

I’m also watching the Sky coverage and Holloway looks to be the worst but with less than 2 hours to go, it’s not full on the pavements yet

mumofoneAloneandwell · Yesterday 12:16

I'm watching the live stream and I am now jealous at missing out again 😄😄😄

The Associated press are really close to the stadium, near highbury station so its understandably rammed

DH and DS are still in Budapest catching up with their Arsenal friends (can’t get a flight till Tuesday!) in a spirit of pride, and watching the parade online.

Hopefully you can get to go to Zara 😄

I'm exhausted watching the crowd tbh

I think I read that they're not going to do a 'lift the cup' moment because they don't want too many people congregating in one place.

with less than 2 hours to go, it’s not full on the pavements yet

All in the pubs!

And the local fans can choose their time to come out when they know the bus is getting near to where they are.

My Arsenal supporting family member doesn't live in N London, but did live in Highbury in their teens, so of course became an Arsenal supporter and has been ever since.

Am watching on You Tube and the atmosphere looks incredible! My son is there somewhere. Have a fabulous safe fun day to anyone that is there! Well done to posters that have come in from Oz …my other son in Melbourne and sooo jealous 🥳🥳🥳

Itsthisyearisntit · Yesterday 13:34

We’re on the corner of Holloway Road and Seven Sisters and it’s rammed. Good atmosphere and only one twat trying to push their way to the front. She got short shrift from lots of people who have been here for 3 hours.

HelenaWilson · Yesterday 14:11

Watching bbc livestream, on and off. It looks like buses are just leaving the Emirates.

murasaki · Yesterday 14:11

I bet she did. Probably only there for her socials.....

Have fun!

SunshineOnIslington · Yesterday 14:38

I’m on on the corner of Essex Road and New North Road, it’s busy but not uncomfortably so. Will avoid the idiots throwing drinks though!
