In fact all of Pomplamoose's French songs. Incredible to think that Nataly Dawn is not French. Her accent and diction is absolutely flawless.

I've always had a soft spot for this version of Parisien du Nord by Cheb Mami (in French and Arabic), especially the bit at the end where he proper goes off on one. What a voice!

I wish it wasn't so easy to find out more about people nowadays. I just discovered via Wikipedia etc that he imprisoned his French ex when she was on a trip to Algeria, drugged her and tried to force an abortion of their unborn child. The abortion was botched and later, in France, she gave birth to a daughter. He was sentenced to five years in prison for this, but served less than two.

Not French language but a lot of Algerian rai singers live in France. They mostly sing in Arabic. Rock el Casbah by Rachid Taha and Abdel Kader by Khaled are my favourites. Ecoute-moi Camerade by Rachid Taha is in French.
