Is this enough food and what else would you do if not?

I’ve got six people (not including me) around for drinks in the garden tomorrow from 3pm onwards. One is vegan.

I’ve got a roast chicken (and a vegan ‘chicken’ joint), a medium ham joint, two loaves of crusty bread, butter, coleslaw and a potato salad. The potatoes will be vegan.

I’ll also have olives, cheese, ham, hummus, guacamole and crisps out.

Is this enough?

I’d skip the horrible chicken vegan joint thing. More dips (vegan) and more nice veg and salad. There’s a lot of meat and cheese and eggs for a party catering to someone who doesn’t eat that stuff.

I asked what she’d like and she said the vegan chicken joint.

There is only one vegan and six meat eaters, I can’t just cater for her. There are no eggs at all except for in the coleslaw.

I would definitely do a salad, but I'm afraid I wouldn't like yours OP and wouldn't eat it. If I'm making salad for people and I'm not sure what they like I try to avoid mixing up things so that people can avoid the things they don't like.

I've had people make salads for me recently because they know I like salad.... one contained avocado, which I can't stand, but at least I could avoid it. The other was bitter leaves, mixed in with the things I do like, and then smothered in a mustardy dressing. I hate bitter leaves and mustard, so I ended up not being able to eat any of that.

I imagine it's 'still going' 😊

The only issue I have is the fake chicken thing but if she's ok with it, then fine. Otherwise with a salad everything sounds lovely. Have a great time too.

I'd also put a good olive oil out as a vegan alternative to butter.

OP already has hummus if the vegan doesn't like dry bread.
