Good Morning All! What's everyone up to today?

I'm drinking my first cuppa, in my conservatory spot, with dd1. She's up for work & made the brews. Cats have been fed and are mooching in here ekekek-ing at anything they see in the garden.

Dd's not actually at work until 1 but wants to go the opposite way, to the M&S foodhall first for her lunch 🙄. Plus it takes her that long to get ready to go!

Dd2's not up yet. She asked dd1 to wake her up when she goes up for a shower. Her plan is more maths revision - she's desperate to increase her grade, from 4 to 5, so she'll be accepted for an A Level rather than BTEC in one of her chosen subjects.

I'm off to B&Q for the gloss I didn't get last week! Also going to get compost to rescue a rose & have a wander of the garden centre - I really need to think about storage for loft boxes! When I get in, I'll start glossing the easy to bits of the conservatory, or sand the bookshelf I want in here so it's ready to paint over the coming week. Not sure which yet.

We'll order takeaway of some sort for tea, then it'll be showers and an hour or two with my book for me, before bed 💤.

What about all of you? 🙂

Morning all, taking my mum out for a pub lunch with my brother in a bit. Just deciding what to wear because of the stupid weather - okay at the moment but clouds over in the afternoon.

dh and ds have no football commitments this weekend for the first time since September and are both feeling a bit bereft I think 😂 they don’t know what to do with themselves!

Have been shopping for general things and food.
Finishing coffee then cleaning and tidying up. Books and papers abandoned in every room!. Cook a quiche after lunch and make a salad and get ready for a new date who is coming for a meal.

Flyingkitez · 02/05/2026 14:03

Afternoon! Today has involved cleaning and tidying. I’m going to take the dog to the forest with dc and will collect the food shopping I’ve ordered on the way home. Chilli nachos for tea. Enjoy the nice weather everyone!

Nursing DH. He's 24 hours post knee surgery and the hospital painkillers have just started to wear off. This is the really painful day.

DS is out with MIL.

I've been to have my nails done today. Havn't had them done in 20 years or so. Never felt I wanted to as always felt what was the point.
Went into town in my new trousers and top in a size 16 😀 had my nails done then met an old friend for lunch. She said she didn't recognise me to start with as I hav'nt seen her since I started to lose weight. Made my day.

Weekly shop and two loads of washing. Then an hour in the garden pruning trees and a sunny walk. Just sat in the garden now with a coke and will make a Chinese with DH for tea.
We’re off to the Peak District tomorrow for an overnight stay and a ten mile walk with SIL and BIL on Monday, so looking forward to that. Have stubbed my toe on the garden chair though and taken a layer of skin off so pondering on the best shoes for a long walk !

Late to the party today.

Swimming for all 3 DC this morning, then home for lunch.

DC1 has gone to a friends for a sleepover. DP has taken DC2 and DC3 out to the big adventure playground and I stayed home to crack on with some chores. Although I'm currently reading and drinking tea on the terrace. Rain does look imminent now but up until about 30 minutes ago its been wall to wall sunshine and 20c.

Thinking of fajitas for dinner and then we'll watch our new series later. We're currently enjoying "A series of unfortunate events" (the Netflix series)

Afternoon all 🥰

Ended up having a bit of an unexpected lie in, and then managed to convince DS to join me on a 10k run (he rode his bike) to the park and back. It was really lovely actually, we had a good natter and it was boiling!

Friend popped in for a cuppa in the garden, just been out with both DC to get the click & collect (and then all the bits I forgot!).

DC put the shopping away for me when we got back, creamy rigatoni with bacon, mushrooms and greens for dinner. About to get the washing in before it starts chucking it down.
No idea what we will do tomorrow, hopefully will catch up with some friends on monday. Hopefully DS will sleep well tonight so he isn't crabby tomorrow...!

Evening all.
I was out volunteering this morning. Came home at 2:30, hence missing this morning.
Fresh asparagus from the garden for lunch (with parma ham, anchovies and new potatoes).
Hung out load 1 of washing, load 2 nearly finished. Watched 2 episodes of Rivals, now we have Disney + on Sky. Catching up before series 2.
DH and DS are at football, and for once Newcastle won, so happy boys coming home.
I'm about to make fajitas for tea, we'll eat while watching the Miami F1 sprint race.
DS is going out, so DH and I will have a evening of tv and wine.

Good evening all, hope you've had a good day.

I've tried to be busy today.

Got the message middle of last week that an uncle was in hospital. Not immediately massively concerned. But he's spent this week getting worse, and is now on end of life care, sadly. Probably looking at days rather than weeks. And unfortunately it's stirred up my own grief for my dad (his brother) who died unexpectedly 8 years ago.

I know from prior experience that being busy is how I best handle big feelings. So I took myself out early. Went and did the food shop, then got a coffee. Home briefly, then out again to the garden centre on the other side of town. Got a few pots and a couple more strawberry plants. Then to Tesco to get a few bits only they stock, then to M&S Food for a few bits for a picky lunch/tea tomorrow.

Got home, planted out the strawberries, and have just been pottering. Now about to call my mum to get a status report on uncle. Will then potter a bit more.
