Do you prefer blackcurrant or orange squash?
I’m a blackcurrant person!

Blackcurrent all the way

ImWearingPantaloons · Yesterday 07:06

Blackcurrant. Absolutely.

JonathanGirl · Yesterday 07:13

Orange out of those two options, but really I prefer lime.

FlatErica · Yesterday 07:14

Blackcurrant!

paintedpanda · Yesterday 07:14

tnorfotkcab · Yesterday 07:14

Cherries and berries or Orange and Mango actually

Orange out of the 2 but I tend to prefer lemon or tropical

MorningWoodEdging · Yesterday 07:17

Lime has to be a perfect balance, too strong is eye watering and teeth feel minging ha

Caravanholiday · Yesterday 07:18

I like lemon but Apple and Strawberry is the GOAT

Of those two, I'd say blackcurrant

Greenfaces · Yesterday 07:21

Orange. I like the taste of blackcurrant but it smells like fox piss to me

MorningWoodEdging · Yesterday 07:27

Fox Piss ? haha!

Chemenger · Yesterday 07:29

Of those two blackcurrant but only if it’s very strong. I would always choose lemon squash or lime with fizzy water.

I actively dislike cheap blackcurrant flavouring, so out of those, orange. (I have no problem with actual blackcurrants, just the taste of blackcurrant flavouring).

My favourite soft drink at home is the cheapest no added sugar orange squash that Tesco does diluted with very cold soda water. The squash is by Stockwell and Co and costs 45p for 750mls.
I've tried other varieties and combinations but this hits the spot for me.
I do like hot Ribena in the winter though.
They're probably both very unhealthy but I don't drink too much but have tap water if needed.

Blackcurrant hot, orange for cold

Blackcurrant - too much over strong orange squash at kids groups in the 80s. Personally I far prefer it to err on the “too weak” side rather than the “too strong”.

We do big jugs of both for kids cricket matches, plus water, and they’re both fairly equally popular.

In my head, blackcurrant and orange are the Two Main Flavours of kids squash. There is also Lemon Barley (health drink) and Roses Lime Cordial (grownups). Then in the early 90s, elderflower cordial appeared, alongside Delia Smith’s Summer Collection. So delicious, so fancy!

Absolutely blackcurrent but not the abomination that is blackcurrent and apple. I'd like Ribena (recipe from my childhood please). My daughter loves a vimto!

JoyLoveJoyInOrbitNsoul · Yesterday 08:19

Blackcurrant but another for lime.

Oh yes. Blackcurrant and apple is too sweet. (Our kids loved it though, fools).

Orange but I prefer strawberry or lime

You’re so right - Belvoir ginger cordial is an absolute dream. I recently went down the “fancy non alcoholic expensive drink mixers” rabbit hole and bought a bottle of mother root ginger - north of £20 and predominantly tasted of apple cider vinegar. Belvoir all the way - it’s perfect

Latenightreader · Yesterday 09:03

Lidl do an excellent ginger cordial (near the tonic water) and a really good elderflower. Both are sweetener free too, which I prefer.

henlake7 · Yesterday 09:06

blackcurrant, esp the spiced Ribena one hot in the winter.

permanently · Yesterday 09:09

Blackcurrant, especially as these days there’s no evil adult diluting it to make it stretch.
