What feelings or things do you enjoy that others may consider strange?

A discussion I am having with a friend this evening is strange feelings you enjoy.

I absolutely love the feeling of exhaustion after a long day of not being able to keep my eyes open. My friend loves getting dead foot.

What strange feelings do you enjoy?

Pins and needles is fun, and I like that fizzing nerve feeling I get in my back when I am coming down with something.

Weirdly I like going to the dentist and having them poke around in my mouth with the tools. Not when there is any pain obviously, but I like the cold metal in my mouth and the weird intimacy of it

I did too. It hurt like fuck but only for a minute and in between contractions nothing. All 3 lasted about 8 hours so quite short. No pain relief for the last one just counting. I felt weirdly in control.

Glad it isn’t just me! I am the weirdo in my friendship group.

The feeling of a very empty bladder, especially if I was bursting to go

I love the pain of being tattooed.

I also like the feeling of being sunburnt, although obviously I’m not daft enough to risk it deliberately.

Poking a bruise, the more painful the better.

I really like the feeling of flossing my teeth too hard/ picking my gums. I know it's awful, & don't do it often, but it feels soooooo good.

I love the smell of a warm sleepy cat.

Exam nerves.. or job interview nerves. That sensation before an inportant moment everyone else hates I love.

There is a fine line of it being too hungry but I do love the feeling.

The smell of petrol. I used to get excited when my dad went to fill up the car.

I've only ever had one very small filling to fill a fine crack from clenching my teeth. I fou d it enjoyable! Not like the hygienist where they are constantly spray g things and vacuuming your mouth. After the pinch of the injection I found everything very relaxing and felt really cared for.

Sitting in a quiet room for an hour with just my own thoughts.
It's like a complete reset for me.

Rarely possible, but a complete treat when it is.

Yes, the feeling of being cared for! I love the dentist for that. I've only ever had one filling, but I enjoy my regular checkups immensely and I get a real buzz when they're pleased with the health of my teeth and gums. Childhood issues, obviously...

Putting salt and vinegar crisps on a mouth ulcer.

Sniffing my husband when he first wakes up in the morning

A good sneeze. I sneeze 4 or 5 times in a row so I’m in heaven 😂

A very hot bath!
