Easter bunny angst!

We’ve never done that Easter bunny (eldest is 7). I’ve always done them a little Easter basket but that’s it.

She thinks the Easter bunny is coming this year and that’s what her teacher told her.

I don’t really want to start anything big as will have to carry it on for the youngest too.

Does anyone do anything small from the Easter bunny? If I don’t do it, I don’t see how I could explain he isn’t coming as we do Father Christmas and the tooth fairy etc. She sees them all as the same.

What have others done in this situation?

But from a couple of posts, kids now believe theres a mythical beast called The Easter Bunny, rather than a bit of fun, and knowing it’s your parents?

I believed in the Easter bunny when I was a child, I'm 40 this yr. I remember my friends talking about it too. Maybe it's regional!

My DS is the same age and we’ve agreed with him that the Easter Bunny isn’t real and it’s just a concept. He’s happy with that. For some reason Father Christmas seems normal but the idea of a massive rabbit going house to house seems a bit bizarre! Today I’ll hide some small eggs in the garden as well as a big egg. I’m not too sure exactly how I’ll do it yet but DS will know that I’ve organised it.

As a child in the 90s I don’t remember the Easter Bunny! My parents simply handed us an egg each on Easter Sunday and that was that.

I am still awake because I have just finished the Easter egg hunt from the Easter Bunny. Rhyming clues to different places around the house with each clue having a gift (small eggs/chocolate) and leading to a bigger gift prize for the last clue. My parents used to do it for me so my DB and I have both carried on the tradition with our respective families. (I was born in the early 80’s).

Same. Did one. Tho off eBay. Think was £3 as I have no talent for rhymes

hid in 10 places around the house each with a little plastic egg with a couple of small eggs or Malteasers inside

Since my dc were old enough to understand Easter, I have always told them I am the Easter bunny. I've done egg hunts in the past. It's never spoilt things for them, knowing it's me. They're just happy about the chocolate!

The Easter bunny is a load of tosh. Just tell her it’s not true. I’m surprised a 7 year old is so quick to believe
