Disney Paris Hotels - Disneyland or not?

I’ve searched previous threads and not really found what I’m looking for. We want to take DS for his 4th birthday for a 3 night break late July. We’d ideally book the Disneyland hotel in the park for the novelty value and ease, it’s just so expensive! Jet2 holidays have several hotels nearby at less than half the cost but offsite, requiring transport to and from and I’ve also looked at the other Disney hotels on site which still require a transfer which are in between in terms of price. The standard of all of the hotels doesn’t look great for the prices - some basic travelodge style, some a little better and for the prices we would expect really decent for the Disneyland hotel and I’m not sure it is. Help!

To add - July unbelievably is cheaper at Disneyland hotel than May or Oct unbelievably (even outside the half term dates!)

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I am concerned about how busy it might be in late July. We might have the option of going early July instead - the marvel and Newport hotels are similar price as end of July. Do you think it’s worth going these few weeks earlier? We’d likely need to go Fri to Mon though whereas late July it would be Thurs to sun.

@passmeaglass it is busy all the time now with the odd quiet day , I doubt there will be much difference .

Right now it’s going to be busy regardless because of Frozen.
if you’ve never been before, it’s easy to think you need shuttles etc. As long as no one has mobility issues , you do not need that shuttle, it’s not the walk you think!
marvel and Newport would be my choices too - definitely not the Disney hotel itself, I just don’t think anything is worth that.

I think it’s busy all of the time, quieter a little in winter but early vs late July would be negligible.

I stayed at Sante Fe and think it took about 15 minutes it was a nice way to start and end the day. We were out all day and apart from breakfast we just slept there so wouldn’t want to spend loads more.

Try dream castle just outside. Still theming to please your little one and free transport ( at least there used to be) but cheaper.
