Gone far too soon at 54, leaving her husband and ten year old daughter. For some reason this news has really affected me, it’s so sad and was so sudden at the end. RIP Mel.

Oh my gosh, that's just awful. She only shared the news last week that her cancer was terminal. Good grief, the poor woman

Just saw this and the shock went right through me. I don't usually care about famous people passing away but I teared up when I saw this news.

She was so vibrant and so warm. Died way too young.

So sad for poor Mel and her family. It has hit me too, and I don’t get sad over celebs passing. My heart just goes out to poor Mel. I liked her a lot. I’m a big MAFs fan, and thought she was lovely.

I just saw this too, it’s really really sad, and I’m not usually bothered about celebs either. I love the way she called out bad behaviour especially from the guys.
Does also make you think about living life to the full (as per some other threads running at the moment about turning 50, midlife etc).

Oh this has made me sad. I had a feeling it wouldn’t be long after her instagram announcement but it’s still sad news.

Oh, how sad. I’ve been watching MAFS and feeling strangely uneasy doing so because of her recent update. She always seemed kind and level-headed.

I don’t watch MAFS but I was aware of Mel because she was diagnosed with colon cancer just a few months after me. Mine hadn’t spread and I have had no recurrence so I feel very lucky. I remember she tried really hard to get the message out not to ignore symptoms or attribute them to stress or being busy.

May she RIP , sincere condolences to her family and loved ones ❤️💐

Wow, how sad 😥 I knew she had cancer but I didn't know it was terminal, or that she had a young daughter. Life is so unfair sometimes, my heart really goes out to her DD and family.

Awww, that is so incredibly sad. 😢 I genuinely thought she had another half a year, and may even see Christmas. What a sad loss of a beautiful vibrant woman, taken WAY before her time. I wish all the love and best wishes in the world to her family.
