Just started uni at the time.

I was 20, middle of a degree, long distance with now DH and having a bloody good time. Kind of studying most days, making friends, out at least 3 nights a week, random late night catch ups with my housemates, a part time job and student loan which made me feel rich and very little in the way of stress.

TheeNotoriousPIG · 23/03/2026 18:23

In between being stressed about bullies and the upcoming GCSE exams, I was hoping to see the light at the end of the tunnel by leaving secondary school. Thankfully, the people who told me (in horrified tones) that your schooldays were the best days of your life were very, very wrong in my case!

Lobesloope · 23/03/2026 18:23

I was busy making stupid decisions.

Ah, me too! 😁

placemats · 23/03/2026 18:29

Two weeks away from giving birth to my first child.

TheTecknician · 23/03/2026 18:30

Much the same as it is now!

MondeoFan · 23/03/2026 18:31

I was 26 I was 1 year away from my favourite ever age - 27. I was working and spending a lot of money on cd’s and gigs/festivals. Desperately clinging onto my 20’s. I remember being mostly happy.

Watchoutfortheslowaraf · 23/03/2026 18:33

I was almost 20 and I was in uni 9-4 every day and working on the weekends too and going out most Saturday nights - no idea how I did it! I was knackered, stressed, having fun and happy all at the same time

OneFootAfterTheOther · 23/03/2026 18:33

just about to get married. Bloody hell I've been with DH more than half my life…

Nannyfannybanny · 23/03/2026 18:34

TheCurious0range · 23/03/2026 18:35

MakeMineAMilkyTea · 23/03/2026 18:44

Starting the process of emigrating to Australia

whiteroseredrose · 23/03/2026 18:46

I was 30 and had just met my (now) DH and had just been promoted.

Haha. That job ended up being awful but I didn’t know at the time.

Miranda65 · 23/03/2026 18:52

Aged 30.
Working full time.
Been married 5 years.
Living in same house as we do now (and with same husband as now 😂).
Not a huge amount has changed, tbh, but we are both retired now.

Meadowfinch · 23/03/2026 18:58

I was 31. I had my own home, an international job, was dating a met officer.

Living my best life, travelling and earning well above average. Having a ball 😊

Simonjt · 23/03/2026 19:00

I was only 19, I had just signed a fulltime contract for the sport I played, I was also in my first year of university, so the time management was a challenge. I’d been living alone for two years at that point, I don’t know how I managed it as I’m still not very good at being a grown up. That was the year I started applying for my citizenship as well, it was such a pain to do, I hate to think how many forms I got through as I kept cocking them up.

Ohcrap082024 · 23/03/2026 19:03

I was 26, happily with now DH who I had met 5 years earlier. Graduate, working hard, partying hard, living in London in a trendy area. Size 10/12. Great hair. It was the year 2000 and life was great. Fab holidays.

Life is good now but just a different type of good.

Left · 23/03/2026 19:07

I was pregnant and a bit lost and unmotivated.

That baby is now and adult, and is lost just like I was.

LemonPoundCake · 23/03/2026 19:16

I was 24 and it was one of the best years of my life. Landed my dream job, was living with my best friend in a flat share in central London, out every night at clubs, bars, events…and late that year I met a lovely guy (who became my husband and the father of my children a few years later).

Bbq1 · 23/03/2026 23:41

Just about to get married and move into our home. Very happy.

Bbq1 · 23/03/2026 23:41

I was 25

Groundhogday2025 · 23/03/2026 23:59

Slim, perky, thought 6 hours unbroken sleep was a bad night. Probably complained about being “busy” and having to “juggle”. Absolute fool.

HoraceCope · 24/03/2026 00:01

ds was 18 months, i was working part time and planning another child

SemperIdem · 24/03/2026 00:03

18, revising for my A Levels and imagining an adult world really quite different to what it has turned out to be so far. I don’t mean my personal life, I mean the geopolitics and the absolute state of it all.

DramaAlpaca · 24/03/2026 00:43

I'd just had DS2. It seems like it wasn't that long ago at all, but that beautiful squidgy baby turned 31 a few weeks ago.
