Life's Little Irritations.

I have quite a lot.😄
But one thing that is really irritating at the moment, is the way this site seems to 'stick', and doesn't transition smoothly from page to page.

It's not my laptop, because this is the only place it happens.

I must be the only one then.😅
I thought the ads on here were bad, I have gotten used to them now, but the pages sticking and lagging is a new thing.

The ads are irritating, I grant you that.
I can't log in here when I have a headache, the flashing makes it worse.

I haven't noticed the page sticking, but I do find this site slower than most, it's probably the ads.

Moving on then....people who let their dogs crap in public or private spaces, then walk on pretending to be oblivious.

OP posts:
BogRollBOGOF · 14/03/2026 11:58

Too many hyperlinks scattered around webpages so the slightest mis-touch of the screen does something unintended.

FB is particularly awful atm as the reactions are right where I reach to scroll.

BogRollBOGOF · 14/03/2026 12:03

Slow formation walkers who are oblivious to other people also using public spaces beyond their group.

Bonus points to the ones who step backwards/ sideways into the way from the shock of realising there's actually more than 5 people on planet Earth.

Coasters which stick to the bottom of mugs/glasses and then fall off. We were given some pretty ones with a mirror pattern and two of these fell onto the hard floor and broke.

RosesAndHellebores · 14/03/2026 12:11

People who wander along gazing at their phone, totally oblivious to other pedestrians.

Cyclists who ignore traffic lights.

My neighbour who left his brown bin out for a week when he got the collection cycle wrong.

Retail/bank staff who have forgotten the use of "please" and "thank you".

Plastic bottle tops which are now permanently joined to the bottle.

People who don't zap the security tag.

Things that are orange, presidents, clothes, etc.

NovemberMorn · 14/03/2026 14:33

People who step off an escalator and stand still.

People who sail through a door I have held open for them without any acknowledgment.

Shop/cafe/pub staff who serve whilst having a conversation with someone else, totally ignoring the customer.

Customers who are speaking on their mobile phones ignoring the shop/cafe/pub staff who are serving them.

Keyboard warriors.

People who drop their bad of dog shit into my extra large empty wheely bin. Obviously I take the bin in as soon as I can - but to get the bag of dog shit out requires me to upend the bin as I can’t reach in and then bring it to a dog shit bin - I have literal nightmares about the day one of those big bags of dog shit bursts in the bottom of my empty bin.

Some people are disgusting.

People who bag their dog muck, then hang it on tree branches or bushes.

This isn't a small irritation but I'll add it anyway. People. I really can't bear them anymore. Entitled, loud, selfish and idiotic. Male cyclist and men generally are top of my list.

Erm, I agree, that's not a small irritation, it's quite a big one.

Life has alot of irritations. I choose to look at the bright side of life and commit to the positive changes.

Is no one else having trouble on this site?
For me it's getting worse, pages slow to load and then 'sticking' and juddering when I am trying to scroll.

It could be because of the ads...not sure, but it only happens on MN.

That little piece of plastic on top of the milk bottles.
People without any manners. It costs nothing to say please or thank you.

Just adding to your thread OP, because I too have been having the same issue with Mumsnet running really slow on both Edge and Chrome.

I use Edge...I have had to disable ad blocker to even read this site, the ads are horrible, intrusive, flashing, and they make the site almost unreadable, and as if that's not bad enough, very slow.

No other forum I have used has had the same problems.

A new irritation on MN, and one that's happened a couple of times in the last week or so.

I log in, see a particular remark I have made on a topic has had a lot of responses, so I click to see which words of wisdom have provoked such excitement....and the thread has been closed.😦

Hi, I tried to find your thread about problems on this forum, but I couldn't...so I will post this here.

Another thing I keep getting on MN, nowhere else, is a loud BOING after I have been logged in here for a few minutes.
Does anyone else get this, or at least know what it is?
