I am sham and getting bored listening working peoples stories about work. I noticed that I have impetigo in my nose again and mentioned that to my friend. She was ok and then started to explain about some woman at work.

this has happened with other friends too and also when I was working. We are having a catch up and another starts to explain about organisational changes at their work. Who cares

What kind of topics do you like to talk about?

If you don't find their work stories interesting why not steer the conversation to something you have an interest in. Films, shows, fashion, holidays, music, food, art, even the dreaded politics...

But if the only topics you're raising are about facial diseases or the contents of the children's nappies then maybe they don't find you so thrilling conversation wise either?
