Why was DD ID'ed when buying pens and pencils?

Student DD went to the supermarket earlier today and bought a packet of pens and a packet of pencils. They were flagged as needing Age Id for her to buy them.

She is bemused. Apparently so was the man in the shop. Is there an actual reason that pencils and pens are age restricted, or had the supermarket just got their system set up incorrectly?

Then again, the Joker was pretty deadly with a pencil.

Most people snort cocaine. It's heroin/crack that gets "cooked" on a spoon.

You can inject cocaine for a more intense hit though, or inject heroin/cocaine together, commonly known as a speedball. All would need a spoon. Unless the poster was referring to those tiny teaspoons that cocaine snorters use 🤷🏻‍♀️
