Eric Dane has died

I know we knew it was coming, but it just feels like a massive shock. I don’t think ivevever cried over a celebrity death before, but this has really hit me hard.

RIP Eric, my condolences are with your family and friends.

For those Mnetters who say “who” he was an actor most famous for paying Dr Mark Sloan in Grey’s Anatomy.

Just saw the news myself and it was such a shock - so young and such a huge part of Grey's Anatomy.

The way he portrayed Mark Sloan was so brilliant - a really complex, layered character who you could love to hate at times, but was also so vulnerable and had such a great character arc.

Very very sad news - he was very talented.

This is really sad, especially for his young family. RIP. Dreadful disease.

That is sad news to wake up too. Such a cruel disease. I'll always know him as McSteamy.

MND is a horrible disease.

one of the best and so handsome. Very sad for his children and wife.

Such a heartbreaking disease and still so young, he was a bloody brilliant actor. I'm pleased he had his family and friends around at the end. Being surrounded by those he loved must have brought him great comfort.

So sad to hear this. As Mark Sloan he was always so full of vitality compared to dreary Derek, a real physical presence, and so that was always kind of how I saw Eric Dane, and why the ALS seemed so particularly cruel. An absolute tragedy. RIP Eric.

This is very sad. 53 is no age, ALS is a terrible illness.

It’s so sad. Great in Grey’s, and also brilliant in Valentine’s Day.

So sorry for his wife and children. I never watched Grey's , but I loved him in The Last Ship.

Such sad news. He was one of those celebrities that you are fond of for no particular reason for me. The disease took him so swiftly. God Bless Rebecca, Billie and Georgia.
