Please may I ask advice on a suitable gift for my employer as they have invited me to Chinese restaurant brunch with their visiting Gran.
Mum is Hong Kong born Chinese, Dad is English and Gran Chinese.
I work as their childminder, although it’s all quite informal so somewhat ad hoc duties and hours so far.
I would like to give a small token of my gratitude at the brunch, perhaps something appropriate to the current Chinese New Year?
I have only just started working for them having been relatively recently bereaved of my husband, so now a newly lone parent in my 50s of teenagers, and have spent the last 10 months very much introspective, rarely interacting with people, my social skills have suffered, and their kindness feels very overwhelming, so that I almost feel a little anxious about the invitation.
There’s no Chinese community in our town to purchase anything from so probably Amazon Prime will have to do tonight.
