I was having a clear out and discovered a money wallet from Christmas 2024 with £200 in! Life’s been very hectic recently so it was a lovely surprise and I want to treat myself.

What would you spend it on?

If you're in the south, the Pig hotels are doing great deals until end of Feb. I took myself to the Pig in Canterbury for a night, had a cocktail and a light dinner, watched TV in bed, had a long bath, went on a long hike - it was glorious and the bill was just under £200 including dinner.

Not quite the same as I haven't found it but I have decided to give myself some money next week following a shit month and a bereavement to blow and not think twice about.

I am going into town going to have a nice breckfast (including a bucks fizz) and then I am going to go and buy something frivolous.

I’m the other side of the country, unfortunately @GingerKombucha but I really like the look of those hotels - the one near Bath in particular! Which one did you stay at?

I’m sorry you’re having a tough time @December2025. You absolutely deserve to do and buy something lovely for yourself!

What are you into?

I'd have a Premier Inn/similar in a nearby city, wander round the shops to buy a few trinkets like a book and a nice bubble bath, then a night in the hotel with a M&S picnic.

Yes, definitely this. I'd eat at a nice restaurant though, but I might be overstretching that £200.

Ohh this sounds fab, although I might splurge on a slightly nicer hotel!

Agreed, better hotel needed. As functional as premiere inns are, and I do stay in them, I would not have a bubble bath in one of their manky baths.

A meal at our local fine-dining Indian restaurant, 7eventy1, which I go to once monthly, so that will be about £30.00, then I'd save the rest of it!

Haha are you me? I was just going to suggest the same thing.
