Rosemary oil for hair loss?

Just that really. Menopause and iron deficiency have really thinned out my hair, I’ve been looking at rosemary oil. Has anyone had any success? Or is it just a con?

I use a rosemary conditioner spray from Amazon which I have found really reduced the hair loss- my hairdresser recommended it 👍

HRT sorted my hair loss. Haven’t tried anything else.

I can’t comment on rosemary oil I’m afraid, but my fine hair really thinned out in peri and I have found using led red light on my scalp really helped. It’s helped with hair growth so my scalp is a lot less visible. I spoke with a scalp specialist and she said there is research to show led can help with female pattern hair loss. I do ten minutes most nights. Current body do a helmet, but I just use a led machine I have from them already. The downside is they’re not cheap… hope you find something that helps

I do use rosemary oil but I think the thing that has really helped me is regular collagen supplements. I use Absolute Collagen but lots of others available.

Hair loss is now back to normal levels and thinning has improved. I also find random short bits of hair on my head which I find a reassuring measure of regrowth.

Good luck, hope you find something that works.

Would you mind sharing the brand/link please? This sounds like an easy way to add into a hair routine!

I use a conditioner that has rosemary oil in it which seems to be helping… I’m definitely finding less hair is coming out but I’m not sure if that’s because of the conditioner or just that I’m feeling better (I’d been ill for many months and the dr said that my albumin levels were low which would have an impact on hair loss).

I found one in TKMaxx the day after I’d been reading about rosemary oil and decided it was a sign to try it!

Also use Nioxin shampoo and conditioner it works.

There's very little actual evidence (beyond the anecdotal) that topical rosemary affects hair loss. Minoxidil & finasteride are the two proven hair loss drugs.

If your hair thinning is down to iron deficiency anaemia, are you addressing that? Taking 200mg ferrous sulfate (can be very cheaply bought over the counter from the pharmacy) daily with hit vit c apple juice or orange juice to aid absorption will help to get your levels up. Avoid tea/coffee/caffeine drinks for an hour min either side of taking it (they affect absorption). I take mine before I go to bed, it's much easier that way. It really helped my hair and brought it back from fine, breaking and patchy, to medium and normal. My ferritin was 2 and hb was 93. Hair loss was not my only symptom.
