Would I enjoy being a governor?

There’s a currency at my DS’s school. I’m a fairly corporate person, and think I could bring a bit of “business strategy “ if that makes sense.

it does seem to be a lot of extra work though!

Don’t forget, many heads stay in post, most schools aren’t federating (although they should) and most heads put tighter the budget because they make operational decisions. Governors can delegate staff recruitment to the head. Governors don’t need to be present for all recruitment. Delegation schemes cover this.
