I desperately need a technique to stop buying these (the bakery ones), they’re so yummy. I’ve been super motivated this January with exercise but it’s making me think I can get away with with extra cookies! Is anyone else obsessed with them?! (Disclaimer: I do not work for the M&S food marketing dept - but I possibly should).

My daughter puts them in the microwave and eats them
warm 👩‍🍳😘

I bought a pack of white chocolate cookies for DH , not bakery ones but pre-packed .
He hasn't eaten them. Is he protesting because they aren't bakery ones ?

HouseAshamed · 22/01/2026 22:34

@70isaLimitNotaTarget , I think you check for quality.

About 25 seconds she reckons and they’re perfect

Well. Now I'm craving button cookies from m&s. I shall pick some up tomorrow. (And pretend I've not already had some this week...)

I work in an M&S bakery and bake those cookies every day! I can confirm that the gingerbread & white are gone for the time being but the speckled eggs ones are back next week!

Oh no! I was going to get some of those tomorrow. Might have to try the peppermint bark ones instead.

But M&S cookies are much nicer than similar looking ones from other supermarkets and worth the extra cost.

I do plan to try and make my own but have only got as far as buying the ingredients and finding a recipe.

What you need to do here is pick up fruit on the way to the till, thus covering another food group
and having vitamins. You’ll balance it out that way.

I loved those so much Im so sad that they were a Christmas thing. If they return I will be buying all of them

The chocolate chips shortbread bakery ones are amazing!!

Yes. Bloody good but I have to walk by when I see them otherwise it’s a coffee and a packet.

Goldpanther · 23/01/2026 06:24

Also loves those white chocolate gingerbread ones!

Luckily for me the bakery section is right at the back in my local m&s, behind the alcohol aisle, so it's easy for me to think I'm not drinking and just never go beyond the alcohol aisle. I admit I do give in on payday!

GellerYeller · 24/01/2026 19:21

I found gingerbread and white chocolate cookies in M and S today!
Sadly they did not have the healthier date bars I’d gone in for, so what’s a girl to do?!

I really shouldnt be reading this thread, I have a feeling it's going to be bad for me!

I'm not into chocolate flavoured stuff like that but the iced and spiced buns are the best thing ever. We have to ration ourselves because we need to leave room for the lemon and lime jaffa cakes obviously they're just a treat thing and not nutritionally sound.

@SunshineOnARainyDay we salute you and your noble efforts. The big mince pies the bakery did were sublime too. I miss them already.

I read the top half of this too fast and thought you were saving room for the lemon iced buns! Love an iced and spiced and those pink ones with jam in. DM used to buy those when we were young.

<smothers a whimper> They are ALL good! I once bought the pack of six teatime selection (mixed cakes) and took them home for my brother (who was staying with me temporarily). He'd put the kettle on for my arrival and we looked at these cakes and bloomin well ate the lot, three each. They were so, SO good but I've been so disciplined since, never done it again. It was worth it though...

Butteredtoast55 · 24/01/2026 20:26

They're doing the gingerbread and white chocolate cookie as a warm dessert now! Look in the puddings cabinet.

Change to the granola ones which are bloody delicious and you can pretend they're healthier?

My mum does this. Buys a bag of fancy flapjacks!
