Vax carpet cleaner not picking up dirty water, any ideas?

A 30 minute job is now 2 hours and I’m losing the Will to live 😫

The water is coming out, brushes are spinning but the tank isn’t filling and the carpets are soaking because I did the lot before I realised it wasn’t working

Any help would be greatly appreciated

This isn’t particularly helpful but we had the same issue with our Vax. Also clogged up terribly. We replaced it with a Bissel and it’s brilliant.

I had this issue with my Hoover carpet cleaner and I discovered that I hadn’t put it together with a good seal between the extractor and the water collection tank. Try checking that everything is sealed and put together properly, or you won’t get suction.

My shark did that on one of my rugs that was too flat, low pile? Or have any of the parts fallen out?

Oh that's frustrating! Has the trigger definitely relased properly? (I'm trying to remember which way round it is, I'm assuming it's press the trigger to wet the carpet and release it to suck the water up?

Or as @Spybot has said, is everything clicked in to place properly as it won't suck if there's an air gap anywhere.

I’ve taken everything off and put it all back on about 6 times, still nothing 😫

When the dirty water tank is off there’s only suction in one of the holes that feed it, not both. Don’t know if that’s right or not. Instructions are not helpful

Had to put the heating on to try to dry them, and open the back door to stop too much damp!
