not sure if my fault or theirs?

I saw an offer on a website for something both me and my mum needed, they had an offer on that said 'buy the product and get a second one free'

to make it easier to type out i will make the product up and call them vapes..

so buy one vape, get one vape free.

ordered 3 vapes for me and 3 for my mum, which going off what it says on the website we should recieve 12?

just opened the box and theres 6 vapes in the box.

i called the company and was told it was my fault and i should have known to add six more vapes to my basket to get them for me, maybe they are right but it doesn't say anywhere you have to add the free vapes to your basket, i assumed once i ordered they would just put the free ones in the box with the ordered ones?

if i call back tomorrow do i have the right to ask them to send the free vapes out or is it a case of i know for next time?

If shipping is cheap return the whole thing and reorder with the offer if it’s still on. Unfortunately you do have to add the free items to the basket in most instances.

NewYearNewMee · 15/01/2026 17:26

Surely you noticed that you paid the price for 3 “vapes” not 6? If it’s buy one get one free and you popped 6 items that cost £10 each in your basket, did you not notice the total you paid was only £30?

MagpiePi · 15/01/2026 17:26

How many did you pay for?

MsSquiz · 15/01/2026 17:30

Did you not notice you paid half of what you should have paid?

Minjou · 15/01/2026 17:33

So you've only paid for three, and got three free. You can't ask them to send out your free ones, you've got them
Just order another six, three of those will be free.

Offleyhoo · 15/01/2026 17:34

Sorry you're being daft! Similarly in supermarket bogof deals you take two items to the till and the price is just for one but both get rung up then the discount comes off. As others have said could you send the 6 back and reorder 12, or order another 6?

mondaytosunday · 15/01/2026 17:36

Yea you should have put 12 in. Did they charge you for three with the three free though? Surely you’d see the price you paid was for three not six?

HeadyLamarr · 15/01/2026 17:39

If you bought 6 you paid for 3, right? So exactly what the offer said. Of course they aren't going to add extra ones in for you, that's a silly way to run things.

For every two items you order, you are only paying for one. Buying one, getting one free.

AlllPanicNoDisco · 15/01/2026 17:39

No I’d know to add the amount I wanted and only be charged for half of them. This is your error. Surely you noticed you were only being charged for 3?

SmoothOperatorCarlosSainz · 15/01/2026 17:42

You’re unreasonable OP. It’s always been the case that you need to add the extra so you should have added six more. You shouldn’t really need direction on that 💀 didn’t you check the price and go oh that’s weird?

Barrenfieldoffucks · 15/01/2026 18:24

Why would they send you free ones? Surely you just do the same order again if your want that number? Presumably you only paid for 3?

TheDandyLion · 15/01/2026 18:32

If there is a selection to buy from, how would they know which ones you wanted free if you didn't order them?
